Then you just missed the crux of my whole presentation. The mags being interchangeable was the whole point.

I don't wanna argue with you. But my point is about having the same caliber so it can be use in another gun with same caliber with different mags. I know having interchangeable mags + cal. is much quiker to use, but the gun is different from what i want.

In my residence it's a minimum of one gun per room, including the garage.
It helps me cope with my disorder.

On a more serious note..... Who here ever had to actually protect him/herself from a home invasion? Judging by some of the comments in this thread, it seems that there is a bit of paranoia out there. Sorry if that offended somebody, but this may just be something to think about: at which point am I no longer cautious/protective but rather paranoid about something?

I realize most of you won't be in this situation but I'm spending my first night 'alone.' I spent my first 28 years without a defensive weapon but purchased a handgun earlier this year. Today I shipped my slide/barrel out to Apex for a sight/FPB install which will leave me without a functioning firearm for about a week. I've slept with my M&P40 on my nightstand for nearly two months now, and suddenly the thought of sleeping 'naked' terrifies me.

How does everyone else feel about the potential of being unarmed?

I had a similar incident. My shotgun was out of my posession for a few days and I felt naked without it. Even with 2 defensive handguns and a rifle under the bed.

That doesn't sound comfortable.

just leave a bunch of bullets on the side of your bed with a lighter. might burn you, but it should go boom. i remember when i only owned one gun, those were very sad days indeed

This is why you need a back up pistol.

But, if God forbid both pistols are not able to be used, a shotgun will need to be purchased.

If say by chance, the pistols are down and the shotgun is away, a fighting rilfe must be promptly procured.
