    1. Easier/Better to train on one same/similar platform and manual of arms. For instance, I'm happy with my Remington 870P just fine. I have no desire to own a Mossberg, Winchester, or FN increasing training time/money on a different platform or manual of arms. I need to get "good enough" with the 870 as it is. I've come to feel the same about handguns unless something can serve a different role or in a caliber not available in that platform.
    2. Guns break. You have a "back up" of your favorite in case one goes down. (Also if it gets taken as evidence)
    3. Accessories like mags/holster the same
    4. If I own one copy I tend to baby it too much.
    5. When you realize you prefer one platform over others why own or shoot something you like less? Ammo's expensive as it is.

There are simply more practical advantages than disadvantages. I used to own a variety of handguns. It felt less fulfilling constantly acclimating to a different one constantly. If I feel like shooting something "different" that's what the rentals are for at the local range. I guess I care more about how I'm shooting these days than owning the varieties of guns out there.

I like this argument. Could be bad news if you have a single action at the one place and a dual action somewhere else and end up mixing up what you think you have in hand. I can only imagine how I would handle a stressful situation. I could see an ND happening..

        Training...Training..Training.

I personally don't have two of the same gun, but now I may have to rethink that.....hmmmm

I like the idea of training on the same platform It makes a lot of sense. For me, right now I'm thinking of spending my money on 9mm handguns . I'm going to stick to 9mm for awhile that way I don't have to buy several calibers. Only gun I might switch to is a 1911 in .45

I don't have multiples of the same exact gun. They have different serial numbers.

Thanks for all the reasons to go out and buy more guns...
