do you own multiple (same) guns? why?

i've read several posts over the last year in which people post that they have 2 or 3 guns of the exact same make and model.
Me, I like to just one of each but i can't understand why some people have 2 or 3 (glock 17, 19, sig 226, xd, or whatever)
is there a reason why you would buy the exact same gun more than once?

i understand the same caliber but i don't get owning the same gun twice

Well, it's kinda like being a BAMF shooting two guns at the same time. reloading will be easier because you won't have to think about which clip goes with what gun. I don't own two of the same make/model, and I don't plan too. In my mind, people that do this are just sh1ting money lol.

my HD pistols are the same, (but different finish). reason being They should be same capacity and size for quick framalirity and interchangeable mags and ammo. that is a MUST.

Other then that, it drives me nuts to have 2 redundant style/functioning weapons. I'd rahter sell a dupe and move on.

some ppl are less interested in collecting a large variety of guns and heavily focus their training on a few platforms. it's nice to have backups of guns they train with.

I have a bunch of Pythons. Anacondas, and other duplicate Colts. I also have a bunch of duplicate rifles, 1911's and such. That way when I sell one I still have it. So to speak.

I have multiples of Smith Revolvers I just like the looks of the Model 19. I have multiple SVI's. I have multiple 1911's, Rifles and Benellis.

I found something that worked I tried to keep the different operating systems down.

My reason for multiple SVI's and 1911's rifles and shotguns is, I traveled and spent a bunch of money on matches. If a gun goes down I have a spare, I might blow the stage or a few minutes of a training class but I'm ready to go in short order.

I move slow but I make up for it by shooting poorly.

When I hit the lotto I'm only shooting factory.

While I don't (yet) have multiples I do champion the idea especially for defensive firearms
              • Parts, ammo and magazines are the same.
              • If one gets stolen, or confiscated you have another.
              • The concept of a backup gun in carry (if one jams or runs dry you can transition faster then reloading)
              • Guns for family or friends in case of emergency.
              • Only have to learn 1 manual of arms (this makes it easy to teach as well)

For fun guns get what you like, but the concept of the same (or similar) guns for fighting is sound IMHO.

I can tell you that I will end up with a 3rd CZ75 Compact.

First one, my dad loved so I gifted it. Replaced it with #2.
Wife wants it so I'll end up getting another

I have 3 cz 52's. When I bought them, they were 139.00 buy 3 and they were 129.00 each. These guns are fun and cheap to shoot. One I put walnut grips, new firing pin and extended slide release on. I also bought an armorers kit. I figured if anything else, down the road, it's money in the bank if I choose to sell any of them. Which I don't plan on. Another advantage is all the magazines.

There are some folks who like a specific model or style handgun so that's what they buy. Finishes may vary, as may some features, but they like the particular gun.

For me, it's the S&W Model 39. Slim, light, 9mm that's reliable and accurate. Feels better in my hand than any of the poly-nine's do.

And, of course, there are those of us who appreciate John Moses Browning's legend. If one is good, more must be better, right?

I own two FNP-40s. One reason I have two is because I just really love their look, fit and feel. Secondly, they are the only handguns I own so all my mags are interchangeable. The wife (or anyone) and I can use then same guns and share ammo, mags etc. Perfect for SHTF

Ok I can see why you would require multiple guns of the same type. In a match it is important since YOU trained on that platform. Some people on the other hand just buy multiples just because

that's why I didn't get. It's good to hear your reason though cus at first I was really confused.

                              1911s
heck that's a 1911, go ahead and have 100 of those. If it was me though I wouldn't buy 2 of the same 1911s. I would buy from each custom shop
