Multiple guns of different models and calibers for fun and variety. Having the right caliber for whatever available ammo there is for SHTF.

Multiple guns of same model and caliber, for familiarity, parts, mag compatibility.

same pistol(s) in several locations in the house..same ammo, same mags, same operation. You don't need to remember which pistol you are using. It come automatically through practic and everything is interchangable...I also have the same pistols in different calibers as well...only because I like them. ( HK USP )

      Glock20 because I like 10mm...no saftey..point and shoot

      4 AR's..9mm, 40, .223 & .223...same opreation, saftey & feel...whats a better way to famiiarize in function and operation
9mm for son, 40 cal for wife and 5.56 for dad...easier to pick up another loaded rifle than to change a mag....thats what the secret service agent told me when he was checking his 2 uzi's
      1 benelli m4 ( HD )
1 Hk 91 ( RAW ) ( longer shots to reach out and touch someone )

          • Parts, ammo and magazines are the same.
          • If one gets stolen, or confiscated you have another.
          • The concept of a backup gun in carry (if one jams or runs dry you can transition faster then reloading)
          • Guns for family or friends in case of emergency.
          • Only have to learn 1 manual of arms (this makes it easy to teach as well)

For fun guns get what you like, but the concept of the same (or similar) guns for fighting is sound IMHO.

Just bought a 6" Ruger GP100 after my wife complained she was tired of me shooting hers and making it hot. Told me I HAD to buy my own.

Funny thing is, she used to be big time anti. God I love this woman.

Also, every time you buy another gun, Sarah Brady cries.
"Are you bringing in any weapons?"
              "Of course not!"

Of all the reasons people have given me on why they buy multiples this is the best answer that I have received. lol

mods, shut this thread down now. We have an answer

One for defense and one for a backup in case one goes down for whatever reason...besides I really like 1911s.

I'd have a pretty hard time finding another S&W 6906 - but if i could for a reasonable cost, id buy another in a heart beat.

That being said, my first "duplicate" gun is going to be a m24/47 8mm yugo mauser.

I have multiples in several firearms. I have a closet full of SKS's, because for a long time you could get them for $150 all day long, they're great, and I like Russian milsurps.

The same logic explains the dozen or so Mosin's around here.

The only "premium" guns I have dupes of are twin P220's, I bought the second from a poster here because it was a smoking deal.
