Do I need a 1911?

First off I'm a pretty big Sig mark. I've been eyeing the railed stainless SIG 1911. I'm not overally nostalgic but do enjoy fine firearms. I have a few 220's, a 229, etc.

So, is a 220 way different then a 1911? Is the 1911 takeapart nightmare not worth the hassle if i'm happy with my 220's? I'd hate to be missing out on one if it should be in the colletcion, but do HATE duplicate's that do the same thing (the 220's are interchangable home SD for ammo and mags).

My dad bought the Sig 1911 railed stainless and really likes it. But he also waits as long as he can between cleanings. Compared to his 226, it's a nightmare.

Personally, I don't think it's too bad now the I've been doing it for a while.

I really think my 1911 field strips easier then my 229. Just like anything though after a few times of doing it, it will become 2nd nature. I would not let that stop you from buying one.

For obvious reasons... it'd be a sig. I bought a glock 4 months ago, and keep bumping it back in dros line for my other sigs. So, i rekon it'd be a sig 1911. Kimber's etc... are nice but... Unless they'res a good reason NOT to on sig.

It can't be called a collection without at least one 1911 in it. So yes you need at least one, but you will want far more than just one.

I own both as well as H&K USP's, Ruger P90's, para's (a 1911 style gun), etc... There is not so much as a "need" as there is a "want".

Shoot a freinds or rent one at a range. That usually makes up your mind for you
