I have said it many times.... I absolutely love 1911's to the point that I have too many (if that is possible) but I am a firm believer in CZ's; so much that I have two of them and one was on my ccw and another is currently on there.

Both are 40 cal (75B & a 75 Compact) and given that I don't shoot 9mm I can't speak to the versions in that caliber. The 75B was bought used and I have put at least 10K through it with no issues at all.

I always offer to let people that are on the fence shoot mine both in person & on Calguns.

The sad part is that CZ has recently raised their prices; seems they figured out that they could get more.

I've been shootong my P-01 with their Kadet 22 conversion kit and it's seriosly impressive. I have gone thru over 1 box of federal bulk pack ammo without a glitch. Truely in a class by itself!

I have shot the piss out of my CZ-75 BD. It's a fantastic gun, but I do have some gripes.

On quick presentations the beavertail area can eventually blister the web of your hand...if you do it a few hundred times a day over the course of a few days...but honestly, any gun can do that. You also have to consciously make an effort not to ride the decocker during firing...If you are transitioning from a 1911, you can't high grip it....It's probably only specific to the BD model and not the standard B model, I wouldn't know...I don't have one.

As far as being 'slippery', and being difficult to operate with sweaty/wet hands, I call BS. I used mine for 10 hour days in the Nevada Desert in 100+ degree heat with no problems.

Otherwise it's a great piece. I haven't been exactly meticulous with the maintenance of this pistol either, but it keeps working...It's accurate, easy to control and just plain fun to shoot. I've had one FTF out of a bazillion or so rounds, and that was chalked up to out of spec ammo. Love the gun, would buy another.

Had the hammer replaced with a competition hammer, seared surfaces polished, and the mainspring and recoil spring slightly reduced.... My CZ SP01 is easily my favorite 9mm!

              Cock it, cock it good!

Being lazy with arthritic thumbs, I keep both my automatic pistols (a Colt 1991 A1, and a Browning High Power) cocked, which makes working the slides to load a round much easier.

Sig line material right here! (corrected for grammar to get the point across more effectively)

LOL! Ok, so what it gets down to is ease of action. I once had one of those 30-30 deer rifles (1894 Winchester), and found keeping the hammer cocked made loading a cartridge much easier. One shot to take a dear, right?
