I agree that slide on cz is harder to to rack that most other guns I've tried. I think it is due to the fact that slide sits VERY low in the frame and there simply very little space to grab on.
I would say that for untrained person P0-1 is real difficult, while cz75 is just bothersome.

However...... low sitting slide = low bore axis = low recoil = accuracy.

Besides..... once you learn that you can hold the slide and move the frame - problem largely goes away.

EDIT 2020: To be fair that seems to apply to many Westerners also.

Like anything else it gets easier with practice. Im not surprised reading all of the bashing going on, I just dont get it. Theyre awsome guns! It appears that a lot of people have a hard time wrapping there head around an all steel, full size 9mm.

No problems racking my CZ 75B. None of my friends who've shot it have had problems either.

Just get a CZ you'll be happy you did.

I'm no muscle man and don't notice the CZ slide being hard to rack. A friend's gf was considering a CZ but she had trouble racking the slide. Maybe because it has a small gripping surface

What bashing? Besides eccvets without listing any reasons?

You really think so? I think they're actually better looking. They're a lot more proportionate and streamlined.

The CZ is a great gun in every way, the trigger pull is nice, accuracy is great, recoil is very manage because its a steel frame. The slide is harder to rack, but if you're not a ***** you shouldn't have a problem.

More difficult because the slide is narrower since it rides inside the frame as opposed to outside like most pistols.

I dunno if it was me or not, but the finish seems more slick too. Not sure how to describe it, but seems like it can be slippery if your hands are sweaty.

I'm thinking of getting a P-01 and heard you'll master it quickly.

Lefty shooter here. Yes CZ slide is harder to rack. As many have said it is narrower and also lacks much of a raised grip surface. If you hand is wet then it can be a challenge.

I just use the slide release with my trigger finger. Holding the gun with the left hand I use the right to put a fresh mag in. As I am getting back on target, I use my left index finger to push the slide release. Then its back on the trigger.

CZ75 is a great gun. It used to be my favorite but right now I'm loving the P228. That, BTW, is a gun that has controls which I think are not very lefty friendly at all (decocker and slide release too far towards hammer for me to reach) but I love the trigger and how the Sig shoots.

The CZ-75 and its clones are issued to more military forces in the world than any other design. The big nations don't count, since they choose sidearms mainly based on political reasons, rather than design excellence.

Serious? The CZ75 has it's virtues, but I don't consider a nice trigger to be one of them.

The SA pull is decent.....not the best....but decent.

Yes.... cz Triggers can become good..... after 500-600 rounds...... but before that they merely adequate.

CZ 85 is a CZ 75 with ambidextrous features, a CZ 75 for left handed people. They are very reliable, very accurate and the ergonomics is renown. Probably the most cloned handgun in the world.
I like the EAA witness line in wonder finish, a clone. They are steel guns so they are heavy compared to a polymer gun. they are no longer on the CA. DOJ list of approved guns, but you can find them used.

I thought the CZ 85 was for left handed because it has an ambidextrous slide stop/release, and safety.

Think about that for a second. You might retract that statement.
