I doubt HK will add the P30 to the roster now that they've added the VP9. They'll want to concentrate on economies of scale producing the VP9 for maximum profit margin. They are probably only making the P2000 because they have production costs low enough to turn a profit selling them only to the CA market. But once they get the VP9 going, they'll probably stop making the P2000. Maybe after production ceases P2000s will finally be worth what HK is charging for them. LOL. I like the P2000, it's a nice reliable gun but I'm just not sure it's worth twice as much as a Glock 19. Not to mention mags costing so much.

We should not be surprised at all.

At the moment, a P2000/SK (w/ 3 mags) is $1,018 out the door, and will be $1,045 OTD by July with the new tax.

I looked around a little bit and they seem to be about $750. Is it that people just haven't updated their posts, or are they just trying to recoup some of the money that they spent for an off roster firearm at the time?
All of the on-Roster H&K VP9 pistols are currently unavailable (still in the pre-order stage) and there is no ETA on when CA FFL dealers will actually have them in stock.

I saw on another forum people were saying 6 months, but that's just rumor I think.

I have owned two P30?s (a full size and sK) which are basically a VP9 with a different trigger. Note I said have owned, as in no more.

I saw the thread where the VP9 was coming to the roster, and all the comments from mopes popping wood in expectation of the arrival.

Really? Yeah it has all these gizmo grip inserts that allow it to fit your hand so perfectly. Wow.

And for those who pop down the bucks for one of these overpriced guns , you will waste a case of ammo and several range trips to figure out which is the most perfect, perfecto greatest feeling grip one can possibly have.

My advice. Buy a Glock 19/26, any generation, and learn to shoot.

H&K anything are usually expensive firearms, they were almost at the high price point when i bought my P7M8 and USP?s, H&K mags - same thing.

There is an intense amount of fanboyism for H&K firearms of any kind. As long as it says, "H&K" on it, many people will do completely illogical things to own that gun.

I like a few of them, I wouldn't mind owning the VP9 but I would never pay over factory list for what is basically a better looking, nicer designed G17

The online gun accounts and instore gun shop employees are saying June-September for VP9's to show up.
If they are being made in the US maybe HK can speed things up, if they are made in Germany then customs might not let that happen.

So the option is either pay the premium for one now or wait half a year to pay less but get the CA version with a MDM that your CCW IA might not allow the removal of because it would be a gun modification.

VP9 is a great pistol. Even with June-ish ETA's, expect them to be sold out throughout the rest of 2024. If you have the opportunity to pre-order from your FFL or local gun store, do it.

It looks like it will be around $1000 when available in CA. The reason these guns are still expensive is that people prefer non-roster guns, without mag disconnectors, LCI and other crazy stuff. But it looks like VP9 series are still going down in price in this forum. They used to be even more expensive.

Depending on how HK does the CLI, it may not be "optics ready" (like the M&Ps). So a few hundred more on for another slide and suddenly, you're close to to the "off roster" price.

No telling what's needed to "disable" the mag disconnect.
