If it doesn?t have a hammer, and a safety, or a hammer, and an LEM trigger I?m not carrying it chambered, because things happen.

just curious, would you feel comfortable if you were carrying p229 or p239 condition 2?

Why carry a gun at all if carrying in condition 3?

Have you tried drawing and ahooting into an A zone on a shot timer?

More comfortable than carrying a striker fired pistol condition 1, yes.

A lot of interesting input. I carry a G17 with a round in the chamber on duty almost 30 years , carry 17 or 19 off duty same way. Somehow , I don't feel comfortable doing the same with P320. Time will tell. I like shooting P320's lot though.

I'll be warry in condition1 carry any striker fired except for Glock or P7. Most striker fired have the striker pin under full tension in condition 1. Even with a striker block, Murphy's Law can still bite.

I know that Yankee Marshal says that all of these ADs with Sig P320 are just operator error, but if you have a gun with that much operator error I have to start to question the design. So my Sig 320 are just range toys. By the way I have found mine to be incredibly accurate and with much better trigger pulls than my Glocks. If I get an M18 with a safety then I may think about carrying it.

I would be willing to bet there were that many or more glock with ADs back when they came out....

Since you "don't train a ton", it becomes something of a question as to whether you'll actually get to the point of firing a round under stress. Given the nature of human reaction time, it's more likely that an assailant will be divesting you of your unfired firearm well before you can get a round chambered. If you don't believe me, get some snap caps, find an accommodating training partner and have them suddenly start towards you from 7 yards. I think you'll get the picture. Better to replace the 320 with a firearm you're more comfortable with carrying in Condition 1 or the DA/LEM equivalent.
You can add a manual safety too. It costs about $200. I'd rather be $200 poorer than carry a gun with an empty chamber.

Thete were plenty of glock ads. Glock got away from.black internals.for this reason

P320 in the air but all the other modern striker fired are fine being carried one in chamber

It's fine, until it isn't. I don't know if there is some incredibly deep hidden issue with the P320 that makes it go off without a trigger pull, what I do know is that literally thousands of people have shot themselves with Glocks, and other striker fired designs since they came onto the market. In an average year 492 people die from accidental discharges, over 3K more suffer severe injury. I can't find updated stats after 2020 at the moment, but I doubt it's moved much in the years following.

A lot of these accidents happen to people that train heavily, during holstering, or drawing.

Everyone is free to decide what risks they are willing to incur in their own carry, and training, but there is a mountain of evidence that suggests the risks of carrying chambered without a safety, or a hammer are vastly higher than carrying with a hammer, or a safety.

If you feel like that risk is ok for the second you gain drawing, cool. I don't, so I don't.
