Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED
Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)
Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET
Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT
(thanks to Jeff Cooper) -
Are you serious?Don't have a FM because I got it used.
Two hours ago it would've been yours for $200.
That's Glockspeak. I don't know what those words mean.
Damn straight! SIGs have a little lever you swing, and it's apart. No stupid tiny finger-shredding nubs you need 3 hands for. The slide slides on and off without any stupid rituals or witchcraft.
Anyway, I found a better thread than this one that told me how to fix it. I had to push on a little round button in the slide. What an idiotic design!
If SIG made a 13 round .45 I'd get rid of this garbage in a hurry.
Buying a gun used is an excuse for not reading the owners manual? Literally a search for "Glock Owner's Manual", those are the first two results.
To be clear, a search on the Sig Sauer website revealed no hits. Maybe that was it.

Now in all fairness, the takedown procedure isn't close to being the best. Berettas are better, well, almost everything is better for that matter. The Glocks weren't really meant to be disassembled, you use them until they break if they do or stop working and then grab another one. You have to remember it's origins and the original purpose of the design.Last edited by SharedShots; 02-05-2022, 3:01 PM.Let Go of the Status Quo!
Don't worry, it will never pass...How in the hell did that pass?
Think past your gun, it's the last resort, the first is your brain.
Defense is a losing proposition when time is on the side of the opponent. In the history of humanity, no defense has ever won against an enemy with time on their side.Comment

Package up the gun and send it to Sig. Tell them your problems and your use of the tag line on most all websites. Let them try to fix one on the most reliable guns on the market and know that one of their representatives is having trouble with the reassembly of a Glock. All to give them a laugh.
Sorry for that. Take the advice given and I'm confident your problem is something small and uneventful. These things do happen to gun owners and require a little patience. Advice here is sound so I hope you follow it and find enjoyment in your Glock. I own a lot of different firearms so no I'm not a Glock fanboy. I do appreciate the simplicity.Comment

Make sure the trigger is depressed before reassembly, and make sure the recoil spring is correctly seated.sigpic

It does have a big slide release lever, but I think those came on all the Gen 4's.First date jitters. Go ahead and enjoy the junkie, stupid and utter reliability of your new pistol. Talk smack here but find true love off line.
Lets hope the last owner wasn't a complete numb nut because he replaced a bunch of reliable oem parts with bling-o-rific crapola parts just because he saw it on YT..
If a pistol NEEDS a manual, then it's hardly "perfection". Maybe it's a joke, like Perfection NV in Tremors? Are you serious?

I had to take it apart to put the threaded barrel in so I could shoot it with my silencer. You guys in kali are lucky that you don't have to worry about such things. Your legislature is really looking out for you.Comment

OP, when you take the slide off, the recoil spring is not quite in the position it needs to be to reassemble you will note that the guide rod is not parallel to the barrel. If you try to put the slide back on like that it will get stuck.
Depress the recoil spring slightly, and seat it on the next ledge so that it is parallel to the barrel - look closely and it should be obvious.Comment

Do not fear the enemy, for your enemy can only take your life. It is far better that you fear the media, for they will steal your Honour
