Remove the magazine.

I had this happen a couple of times with my G17 Gen3.

Pull the trigger and hold it as you re-engage the slide.

Was it recently Cervantes? I had one do that after a slide mill and cerakote.

Push the safety plunger in and make sure that the striker is in the "fired" position. Try that...

So the simplest pistol with the least amount of parts is a piece of junk because you can’t figure out how to put it back together….you need to change your name from Sig Stroker to Hi-Point Lover.

Flip the guide rod the other direction (up I think it was instead of on the side like you'd think it would go.)

Are you sure the slide is catching the frame rails when assembling?

sounds like you "over rode" the rear slide rails causing the slide to get stuck? you need to give it a firm hit on the back of the slide to knock it loose.

use a rubber mallet to tap it off
