You can’t beat the trijicon rmr’s in my opinion. They are very durable, battery last forever (change every new year) and they are compact. I have a couple of the sig red dots which have a great picture and are very clear but the battery does not last. I need to keep it off while in the safe where as the rmr’s stay on all the time.

My MRO is a bit of a smudge. I have the regular Holosun 507 and the ACSS with the chevron. Neither appear distorted from my astigmatism. It's likely the Trijicon is a superior product but I can't justify it for my uses.

I have the same problem, astigmatism. Obviously turning up the brightness can make it worse, and a bigger dot can mean a bigger starburst. Most def try out as many sights as you can, in order to minimize the starburst. Let us know what works best...its good info to share what worked for you.

One small trick I have learned with astigmatism and the starburst, besides minimizing the brightness, is that blinking can help. Obviously, if you are talking about competition or self defense, where speed matters, then no, but 3 blinks, and the starburst gets better for me. It gets worse when I am aiming carefully at distance and trying to maximize accuracy.

Ehh, my friend dropped his G19.5 MOS w/Holosun 507c off the shooting bench, onto concrete. The corner of the housing got dinged....but held zero and functioned normally

Green also works MUCH better for my astigmatism, than red....just sharper

i am a sig owner, so obviously that skews my choice.
the only handgun i own that is not in this picture is my original p226 bought in 1992.

one is a frankenstein p229 enhanced elite that is as close to a legion as i could build with the xray3 sights and g10 grips (or the rx slide). notice i ditched the original slide with the lci, lol.

the other is the p226 legion i bought (used) to replace the original p226. of course i paid way more than msrp...and i bought the rx slide later like the other.

notice one has a surefire wl while the other has the less expensive copy (bought before the virus) and it was only stuck on there for the picture.

i am certain that there are "better" red dot for pistols now, but these work fine.

I've been pretty happy with my Glock 34 with the slide milled and Trijicon RMR RM06 sitting on top. No issues so far, but I haven't been able to run it as hard as I want...yet. Going to order a Holosun 508t for my carry Glock 19. Having watched what Aaron Cowan from Sage Dynamics puts his red dots through, I've got just as much confidence in them as I do traditional sights.

That’s great. I’m glad it was able to survive 1 impact. We all got our stories and anecdotes we use to justify our purchases, and budgets we got to work within

If your friend doesn’t want to mill slide and get rmr, I’m glad they found an option that works for them. Granted if they are in CA the off roster premium + 507c is probably more cost than g19 gen 3 via gssf, milling and rmr

Yes, everyone has their anecdotal stories however Holosun has quickly developed a solid reputation based on people in the training industry. I'm not talking about YouTube shills, either. Trijicon is not the only good name in the game anymore, and even then they had their own Gen 1 issues when RMRs were making their way over to the "duty/carry" world.

After talking to other retired LEO's about their back pains, knee pains and the doctors they have seen.....Glock 45 with a Trijicon SRO 5 min dot.

A back specialist told a friend of mine she could tell if someone was wearing a gun belt (LEO style) after only one year.

Light weight is a good thing.
