If money is no object, then the Trijicon RMR06 Type 2 3.5MOA.

Money is an object, and I have a TON of guns to equip, so I'm running Holosun 507 and 407s. My 407's are the older model. No side loading battery. The 507s are the latest model with the side loading battery. You would be surprised how nice that is. The batteries last forever, but the time comes to change it that process will be super easy. The downside to the Holosuns is that the buttons are tiny. Those huge buttons on the side of the Trijicon are super nice. But again, gotta pull the whole thing off the gun to change the battery. My worry there is not so much rezeroing as much as it is a screw stripping, and now you'll end up damaging the sight and possibly even the gun drilling off the screw head. The less you have to interact with the mounting screws the better.

I like bigger dots as they are small dots at handgun range.

      6.5 moa or 8 moa

      8moa is about 8” at 100 yards

      At 12 yards, it’s 1”

      At 6 yards it’s 1/2”
Rule 1- ALL GUNS ARE ALWAYS LOADED

Rule 2 -NEVER LET THE MUZZLE COVER ANYTHING YOU ARE NOT PREPARED TO DESTROY (including your hands and legs)

Rule 3 -KEEP YOUR FINGER OFF THE TRIGGER UNTIL YOUR SIGHTS ARE ON THE TARGET

Rule 4 -BE SURE OF YOUR TARGET AND WHAT IS BEYOND IT

M&P Core. But there are plenty of good options out there these days. I happen to prefer M&P's over Glocks.

For the optic, Trijicon RMR with the smallest dot possible. But dot size is personal preference. I appreciate the greater precision of a smaller dot.

Pro Tip: If you're going to need a holster for this gun, figure out what gun/optic combination you want and make sure you can find a holster for it before you buy it...and particularly if you're going to add a light to the mix too.

Not the best one...but the best for me and my budget. A P365XL with a Romeo Zero. Will also run a Romeo Zero on a P365 as well when the P365X slide that I just ordered arrives.

            Yup!!!

When people go for smaller dot for precision, what precision are we really talking about?

For example, with a DPP at 2.5MOA - at 25-yards, that is like what? Less than an inch? The majority of shooters can't even hold less than 5-inch groups slow fire at 25-yards...

In the event we are shooting targets out to 240-yards? A 5MOA (13-inches at 240#) dot can still make contact with a human-sized steel silhouette.

While my own match pistol Glock 34 Gen 5 uses the SRO's 5MOA dot, my wife's Glock 19 Gen 3 uses the Holosun's 8MOA circle reticle - at 25-yards, this is more than sufficient for a 4-inch headshot (8MOA at 25# is about 2-inches)...

I recently took it through its paces (shakedown) to see if the larger MOA would be a disadvantage... Apparently not... Head shots... 6-inch steels at 15+ yards... Reduced center mass target between non-threats...

So, again - why are we pursuing a smaller dot for non-Bullseye shooting?

They're selling it now with the Romeo Zero installed for a pretty good price.

Also, that other stuff isn't as bulletproof as it's legend. Plenty of cases of RMR's going tits-up, besides all it's faults. China can make crap every bit as good as we can, but most of the time we want to buy the cheapest crap we can, so we buy their cheap crap. Their "good" crap is still cheaper than most everyone else, but it's more expensive than we're used to paying for chinese crap so it often doesn't make it into our market. Except it looks like Holosun is bringing better stuff here than before.

why are red dots more popular than green?

                              I’m enjoying this thread.

I am going to my LGS this weekend to try out a bunch of RDS. I have a green dot HS, and I like it. My problem is astigmatism, so every dot is a starburst. Green is better than red, and I have read that gold is even better, but I have never tried it.

Going to see if RMR is better than my HS. It has been very dependable. While the battery is rated for 10 years, I plan to replace it in 5.

And green takes up more battery power
