Definite improvement with the upgrades. Congrats. I want one in 50ae.

Lesson learned: Go with your gut feel/own desires and never worry about what other prople think. It will serve you well.

I also prefer the upgrades in your after picture, and I'm not the biggest fan of the Desert Eagle's looks to begin with.

And although you paid $300 more once you adjust that for inflation it's not so bad.

It's a gun I never even wanted until I shot one, then I needed one.

Congrats OP, what caliber? I love my .44
The actual value of above $.02 is less than $.01 after taxes.

As an owner of a .50AE model (IMI, Israel), I can say that it is an ergonomic disaster, and very impractical in nearly every regard. If you are seeking a novel range toy that is expensive to use, more of a reloader’s proposition, and has very stout recoil, it might be for you. If you seek a practical sidearm tool for hunting or defense against large predatory animals deep in the wilds, consider some type of large bore revolver. Next to a rifle, they are tenX better than any Deagle.

I tried the 50AE rental at FT3 about 3-years back... It was fun! The recoil wasn't really that bad as everyone would say... (I actually got reprimanded by the RO that I was shooting too fast. I slowed down my second string)

But THAT was it - not worth buying, IMO. Hyped... The novelty all gone... Unless, one is a collector...

I'd be ok with a plain Jane range toy. But yours looks better, congrats.

I like the look after your changes. I shot one a few times, fun but...

                              Same here!

I blame Stilly for letting me shoot his at RMR, I was hooked after that. My favorite load is 24gr of H110 under a 240gr XTP @ 1.600". Don't seat any longer than 1.600 so it fits in the mag.

Don't ever shoot unjacketed lead rounds through it. I've shot Remington soft points, but everything except the tip was jacketed.

If you want it to cycle reliably, don't go less than 1250fps ammo, and definitely no limp wristing.
