One of the three guns in my life I was happy to sell. The others were a SW 500 and a Keltec Sub 2000

I shot a 50AE when they first came out, same recoil as my S&W 29. Always found the DE's to be something of a curiosity, nothing more.

Probably my most impactable purchase ever, but damn, it makes me smile every time I pull the trigger. Mine is basic black in .44. Love it!

Congrats! I have one of the first DE’s with a stainless frame only, bought it in 1988. Paid $737.53. You selling the original barrel from that? Hard chrome or stainless? I always wished I had bought the 14”? Barrel way back when too. Congrats again, fun pistol.

                  Here are some information resources:

Words of advice: use grease in high friction areas instead of oil (think of an M1 Garrand vs. an AR)
Avoid ammo w/ exposed lead bases. Use of those may eventually clog the gas port. I use JHP or total copper jacketed ammo exclusively.
Check your recoil springs often (all 4 of them) Most people’s feeding problems can be traced to worn springs. For me, I change them when I’m near 1k rounds.
If you have a Kalifornia model, I got sick of that crazy double pins on the firing pin stop. I changed out the firing pin and stop to make life easier when you clean the firing pin.
                  Good luck!

Great for eco rounds. Make sure to side strafe and aim high.

I bought the CA version in black, got the 50AE conversion kit (barrel and two magazines), and replaced the firing pin and stop with the standard ones.

                      Also these...

Hey now, mine is gold plated and I found Virgin Mary grips to be fully cartel style.

Glad I stocked up on cartridges when prices were reasonable.

This is one of those guns I'd love to try at a range some day. You're gonna make lots of friends at the range.

I prefer the old style with only 2 slots. But I wouldn't kick it out of bed for eating crackers, the way you set it up.

Anyone have problem with the polymer extractor tension? Be careful of the solvents used in cleaning the bolt not to let it deep into the extractor spring. I had to replace mine with an AR15 extractor spring.
