No, the G19 is not obsolete. It just has more competition now. In a space that they previously OWNED for decades, it has suddenly become crowded.

I don't know about the tree incident, but I saw him toss a P365 (over his shoulder IIRC). I pretty much stopped watching his channel then. We really don't need online "gun personalities," for lack o a better term, doing stupid **** like that and providing ammo to the antis.

I was watching a .300 BO video on youtube and saw this video's title in the right side menu. I figured it would piss off the Glock fanbois. Mission accomplished.

I forgot to mention that for some people with big hands or long fingers the G19 is the smallest handgun they would prefer to fight with. There is no one size fits all firearm. Again that video is clickbait.

Just curious, have you shot a G43X, G48, P365 or P365XL? I have a friend with big paws that used to use the exact same argument - until he shot my P365 with a 12 round mag. Now he's a convert.

This simply is not true. Not everyone carries their gun for the same reason. There are a lot of people for whom the Glock 19 is the perfect duty weapon. I know several law enforcement officers who chose the 19 for duty carry. It fits them better than other larger options. There are a lot of people for whom despite being double stack and on the thick side it is the perfect concealed carry gun. So long as I am not in shorts and a t-shirt it hides really well on me. The list goes on.

Personally I would MUCH rather carry the 19 than the 26, 48, or 43. In winter, it is the ideal carry gun for me. In summer it barely prints. I do currently own two 26s. And I like them. But it's no 19. The 26 is more than usable when you add grip extensions. Especially those made by Hyve. But the 19 is considerably easier to shoot.

I don't have much experience with the 48, but I do have experience with the 43. That gun is a BEAR to shoot. Hides really well. But that's it's only upside. It's just too damn small and too damn thin. That makes it uncomfortable and difficult to manage. Especially by comparison to the 19. I haven't even gotten into the benefits of a longer sight radius argument. Which is definately valid. As are the benefits for a longer barrel.

For most, the 19 is just a perfect fit. Especially if you don't need to try summer conceal carry. That said, I actually prefer the 17 for duty carry and 34 for plinking and competition. The extra grip space works well for me. But I dig the 19 very, very much. I own 2 of them.

Both of my gen 3 G19's still go bang when the trigger is pulled.

Now, that said, my G19x is without a doubt more accurate and has a better grip...

...and my G45 MOS with an RMR helps my aging eyes acquire the target quicker...

...and my G43X MOS with 15 round mags is just tiny and very concealable for those of us with permits or live in a free state...

...obsolete, no, but there are definitely improved versions and options out there...

...and I won't even compare with my M18 which hasn't made it to the range yet.

In Kalistan, the G19 is definitely not obsolete since we can't buy most all of the competitive products because of the roster.
