New Timney Glock trigger

Yeah you're sooooooo right. Your ignorance or lack of understanding the 3 safeties, how they work and the design of the Timney how it negates it.
1) Glock firing pin is not pulled back until you start pulling the trigger vs on the Alpha when cocked the firing pin is "ALWAYS" in the rear position negating the firing pin safety.
2) The trigger shoe safety is/can be compromised because of the design of the Alpha since it does not rely on the firing pin spring to reset the trigger after firing, again due to the design of the Timney trigger.
The comical part of all this is everyone who wants this to work sooooo badly is trying to fix something that is supposed to work from the get go. Instead you're trying to find a walk around by installing different trigger bars and changing a spring for a reliable return. If I spent 150+ dollars on something it better work or it's getting returned.
Here's how a Glock trigger/safeties work, but I'm sure everyone in this thread knows better right????

IIRC Glock offers 3: dot, minus and their standard. At first Glock didn't want to sell their connectors separately and have people installing them for a pistol they where not intended for, but then later relented.
in classes I've seen way to many people have triggers not returning and firing on trigger reset due to aftermarket trigger connectors. If you ever read forums "my Glock is having fill in the blank problem" it's always from using a 80% frame, aftermarket triggers, springs, connectors, out of spec slides etc. Why buy Glock reliability just to throw a bunch of hot garbage parts at it and make it unreliable. Can DI AR's run dirty?

And it has the lightest pull ever!! LOL
Unfortunately Timney still has not responded to my inquiries... Looks like i'm going to have to settle this via my bank.
Was going to get a few long rifle triggers from them after this one, I think it is time to look at other brands.Comment

I bought a second Timney trigger for a second G17.
I'm sort of impressed they reacted fast enough with user input with a second return spring.
The first Timney went in an Open Class gun.
The second Timney went in an otherwise stock G17, but will be used for in the Production Class of USPSA and Steel Challenge events.
I will say the Timney is light on the reset of the trigger shoe, but that mainly impacts it in slow fire target use. Rapid fire it generally wont be noticed.
The second Timney I put in now pull at around 2.5lbs with a 6ln striker.
It takes a special kind of shooting enthusiast to appreciate a good trigger. Those making the argument against Glock perfection are not in my competition ranks.
*************
It's not worth the effort to convince anyone to use it or not. I have no problems with my competition not using it.
I will say that the trigger shoe lacks ideal adjustability. If the trigger shoe safety was a bit shorter considerable more take up could be removed with an adjustment screw that is already there (I get it, product liability). Before there was Polymer there was Accuracy.Comment

Their customer service is very very good. Good to hear they made it right, still a big wtf as to the empty box though...

So I had heard they released an update with the more powerful spring and the washer with the 2nd batch of triggers. I emailed Timney and gave them my order numbers and asked if it's possible to receive the new parts. I received no reply to my email nor a phone call, however I received an alert from the post office that a package is being sent to me. A couple days later the carrier delivered a padded evelope with sets of the new parts in it...but no Tootsie PopMan, this place has gone bonkers.Comment

I bought mine on ebay from a dealer, not even direct from them and they sent me the extra parts no questions asked. Also, they actually answer the phone. I never emailed only called, and in 2 minutes had the parts on the way.So I had heard they released an update with the more powerful spring and the washer with the 2nd batch of triggers. Perfect timing! Just ordered a Gen 3 one for my Wife's Glock 19.
That said - I saw a video from TTI that they have collaborated with Timney to have the latter's triggers in Combat Masters, etc. .... which gets me wondering, what will now happen to the other aftermarket trigger shops? Timney makes a more effective trigger at a way LESSER price!?!
Totally a game changer...

I purchased one for gen3 19 and and one for Glock 45. Was able to shoot the 19. Timney replacing aftermarket triggers ok both.
I think I like it, but will require more trigger time. Only issue I have is the reset doesn't seem very strong. I have
Zev triggers on gen3 34 and 41 and those triggers reset very firm i.e. the trigger wants to reset and I slowly let the trigger reset. With the Timney, even with the red spring, it almost feels as if the trigger isn't going to reset unless I take my finger completely off the trigger. Again, I only have around 150-200 rounds so maybe I just need to get used to it.
Other than that minor issue, no regrets with purchase. I've probably tried 3 or 4 triggers on the 19 and this is the best by far.Too many rifles, not enough time...Comment

I tried mine today and it didn't work well with the Advantage Arms 22 conversion upper.
I have a gen4 G35 that I tried with my Advantage Arms 22 conversion upper. The AA upper has always been pretty reliable with my DK trigger installed while using CCI Mini Mags.
But, today I installed a new Timney Alpha trigger into the G35 and the AA upper only works about 50% of the time using the same ammo. It appears to be having light strikes. The rim is barely indented.
However, using a 9mm or .40 upper, the Timney works completely fine.
I'm going to put on my thinking cap while having a bourbon to try to figure out why the AA upper doesn't play nice with the Timney."Show me a young conservative and I'll show you a man without a heart. Show me an old liberal and I'll show you a man without a brain." - Sir Winston Churchill

Interesting development. I prefer to have a 4lb+ trigger in my carry guns and was very hesitant about the reset being non-existent. It seems like Timney has thought of everything. Thanks for the update.Just completed the swap - definitely a heavier pull. But still clean and crisp nevertheless. And yes - the reset is definitely stronger, more positive. Not as good as OEM, but this is what I feel are the trade-offs to get a competition trigger in a Glock (a balance between pull weight and reset). Liking this combo more... Let me try this in this weekend's match.
Edit: As I do more dry presses - I feel that with the Timney Red spring + OEM Minus connector + Stock other springs = a good defensive/carry setup.
I am interested what you think @SkyHawk once you get your red spring...
That said, a few questions come to mind:
- Should I be getting the McMaster spring? Albeit any further weight increase on the red spring will make the trigger pull more closer to stock, IMO. No point then of using the Timney.
- Have you guys trimmed the legs of the spring? It jots out of the locking block - am wondering if there are any issues with that? I saw a post where the barrel lugs are getting peened.
- Above said, this was the first time I had to strip the Glock with the Timney in - don't you find it more difficult...? I had to again PULL the trigger to get the slide off.
