What do you mean by that?

Nothing. There's no way to "run" the serial number to see if its been reported as stolen.

Armslist is a mix bag. If it seems to be good to be true it's a scam. If the seller says anything other than I'll meet you at XXX gun store, it's a scam.

Though there are some good deals from time to time. I just picked up my Ruger P90 off Armslist for $400. Not a "deal" by any means, but I didn't get gouged either. They are going for $375 to $425 on GB.
    Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.

Unfortunately Armslist seems to be about 90% scammers for the buyer and seller. I do come across a real item for a good deal every once in a while but you can usually just scan through a couple pages and spot 3 or 4 scam posts. Never list a city just in the state and too good of a price to be true.

It happens. You just need to learn what the scammers post look like.

I just did a quick look and probably found a good 5 per page that are probably scams.

Though, I know you're looking for a CCW gun or two. This one could be a legit ad:

No pay till inspection . No one would knowingly sell a gun that is stolen. Gun is lost and you get money back and seller gets visit from detectives. He must have valid ID or dros will get kicked out immediately/. Seller has to have 2 forms of id for handgun sale.

Why would you even go down that road with Armslist? There's always free cheese in a mousetrap.

I know that I have gotten good deals there and so have others.

My last great deal was picking up a gently used German P220 for $500.

Reading the thread, so far sounds fine. If he asks for a deposit then run away. Not sending you a picture of the serial number isn't a red flag. I wouldnt do it either. For all he knows your the scammer. If he meets you at the ffl, you two make the agreement on what point of the transaction the cash gets handed over.

So I guess that's what I needed to hear. Is DROS prevented from being started if he had a bad ID?

And a seller only needs a CDL/Real ID.

As a buyer on Armslist I look at the sellers ‘Registered on’ date and check ‘Listing by this user’. If it’s a new user it’s suspect, if they have multiple items listed at different cities it’s a no go for me.

As a seller on Armslist I will only respond to those that send me their name and phone number otherwise they get ignored. People that want to text only get ignored after more than a couple texts and failure to answer calls. If they have poor grammar and their email reads like a Russian Operative then it’s a no go.

Gotcha. A pic of a box from a different gun mixed with it being too good of a deal would get my spidersense going as well.
