Glock 19 vs 17

19 because I have small hands and the finger grooves fit me better than 17.
Conceal carry. Most add the pinky extension to the 26 and then the grips become the same length as the 19. Not to mention some extensions pinch. So might as well get the 19 so there is no pinch and better shootability with the longer sight radius.

Well, we arent maxed out at ten rounds. I have four G19 non drop free mags i bought before the ban, and about 16 i bought during freedom week. Well, five or ten of those were eff you Newsom 32 rounders, but...
I have a G27, the 26 twin except in .40, and i shot IDPA with it for years. It is still on my ccw, but i got a 19 instead of a 26. I had a long talk with Larry Vickers and he feels it is the perfect sized handgun for ccw. Thats what i got.
Glocks arent thin anyway, and thats always the issue for me. I carry owb, and the half inch or whatever doesnt make any difference. I prefer the longer sight base, but if you shoot the 26 better, i would carry 19 mags as reloads and suddenly it fills the hand like its bigger brother.Originally posted by tony270It's easy to be a keyboard warrior, you would melt like wax in front of me, you wouldn't be able to move your lips.Originally posted by repubconservPrint it out and frame it for all I careOriginally posted by el chivoI don't need to think at all..XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOriginally posted by pjsigYou are talking to someone who already won this lame conversation, not a brick a wall. Interesting. Link?Originally posted by jessegpresleyMost people that say they shoot X gun better than Y gun have never shot any sort of shooting test that measured their capabilities with a time and numerical score.
There's a well-known former SEAL Team 6 instructor named Kyle Defoor who said the difference between a G19 and G17 was about 10%.Originally posted by tony270It's easy to be a keyboard warrior, you would melt like wax in front of me, you wouldn't be able to move your lips.Originally posted by repubconservPrint it out and frame it for all I careOriginally posted by el chivoI don't need to think at all..XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXOriginally posted by pjsigYou are talking to someone who already won this lame conversation, not a brick a wall. For CCW Glock 26>19>17. Glock 19 and 26 fit my hand better than the 17. The 26 carries sweet and lately been using a 12 round Magpul which makes the grip similar to the 19 but smaller and does not print. The 19 gets carried, just not all the time. I never carry the 17, prints like I have a battle ax. Best part is they all take the 21 round backup Magpul.Comment

There is no "better" gun between the two. Its entirely subjective. I have both. One day I like one better, then the next day I like the other better.
The only valid reason the G19 might have any advantage over the 17 is for CCW. But if you don't have a CCW, then back to even again.
The only other advantage the 19 could have requires a Walking Dead, SHTF, post-apocalyptic imagination... If you're scavenging for mags, the 19 can accept both G19 and G17 mags. If you find 19 mags, but you have a 17, you either cut the grip down or you're SOL.
BTW - both my G19s and G17s feel 100% better with Talon grip tape. Its a must have unless you stipple.Last edited by DDM4556; 07-03-2020, 6:52 PM.iTrader: 52 transactions, 100% positive.Comment

I have a G27, G23 and G35. I’m skipping the G22 permanently since the G35 is a better range gun than the G22. The G23 is a better as it’s easier to conceal than the G22.The wise man said just find your place

I have both.
The G19 is in the bed side quick access safe, never modified, ready for that bump in the night.
Then I have two G17's that are my go two competition guns. One in stock configuration and the other built into an Open gun.
The 17 and 19 are effectively the same frame with one just trimmed down. So really, in the hand they feel the same. So unless you have bigger hands that want that extra grip length it's probably going to be inconsequential.
If you don't have either then I'd get a G17. It might be a little bit better all around range gun, and double as a home defense gun just as well as a G19.
If you are going to actually conceal carry it, then the G19 of course.

Sounds like you've already decided against the 19, so then sell it. Problem solved. I hear people will pay big money for them nowadays, even if they're used.---------------------

I agree with everything you said.
But G34>G17Comment

I have a G17 and I like the way that it shoots. I’ve shot G19s and they are ok, but I find that I am more accurate with them when I use my G17 magazines in the G19. The 1/2 inch or so extra length with the G17 magazine sticking out makes me a bit more accurate than when I’m using the regular mag. If by some miracle I can CCW someday or move then I would consider the G19 or G26 for edc.Comment
