My Springfields seem to work pretty well. At least good enough to bring home some bling vs some full custom 1911's costing 4 times as much (2nd place was shooting an Atlas Gunworks Titan). Maybe I just got lucky with all 4 of my Springfield 1911s....

I’m on the boat of “these are tools” and not worry about marks/nicks.. just clean, lube, shoot, repeat. But damn... killing someone who is asking a simple question about a Springfield, who genuinely doesn’t know? Come on?! We all been there before... For someone new, 1K is 1K... a lot of money. Im glad my buddies showed me all the differences and schooled me. Nothing wrong with asking questions.

@Jlee9mm... don’t worry too much about it man... unless you go high end or custom, QC on that Springfield is what it is. A workmen’s tool. Shoot the heck out of it and enjoy. You picked a nice 9mm.

I stored my SA M1911 on the bottom of my safe once and noticed it started getting some rust / pitting on the edge of the front of the slide, I cleaned it off and it's not even noticeable , just part of a well used gun

once it gets regular use, you wont even notice small nicks or dings anymore
