Someone was looking for a 41 MOS slide on Gunbroker and they seem to have dried up... but the Gen3 30S slides are still there. I saw two or three @ $375 there might be more. The best approach in CA is to get the 29SF and add that 30S slide IMHO. Unless you hate 10mm. Same frame.

Another good thing about the 36 is that it can use 19 holsters.

30/30SF is nice, but it's the full size grip and is quite heavy. 30s, if you can find one is a good compromise.
I've never understood this (whining about capacity). If this were the case nobody would carry five-shot DA revolvers which are quite popular as EDC guns (one of my favorites).

Great for you to Brother. Its a great gun. It’s a shame that the FFL didn’t know any better. Box should have had a not for sale in CA. Seen them in orange. Distributors are the ones putting the sticker on the box.

6+1 plus a reload or two is just fine if you can shoot, all the more reason to make your shots count. Many people carry a 5/6shot snubby revolver, and those are a longer reload unless you master speed loaders/moon clips etc.

6-7rds of 45acp, i dont need more then that and if i do, carry extra mag or two. Makes a good slim carry firearm for me. And ive shot it before and love how it feels and shoots, i shoot it better then a full size 21 because i get a better purchase on it.

Exactly, its a defensive firearm/purpose not get into a long lasting gun battle. If i cant hit one target within 7 rounds plus a reload, im already screwed.

Ive never felt undergunned carrying a revolver or 5-6rd count semi auto, especially in 45acp.

Master whatever you do carry, plus 10+rounds of 45 acp means bulkier and heavier gun, i had a glock 30sf and liked it too, its a great gun but i dont appendix or behind the back carry, i like to carry rightbside wb and slimer is easier to hide for me.

If you carry a heavier gun, you have to build your wardrobe around it, it may get uncomfortable and you may be less inclined to carry it.

This gun is decently light and slim, and i can even put it in a pocket of baggy gym shorts and it wont really print in an obvious way, or even in the waistband, it doesnt drag or shift around for me.

            Fits a glock 19
Holster too which i find a plus.

Anyone know if anyone makes flush fit magazines or with a slimmer base plate?

You should watch Handguns and Defensive Weapons on the sportsman's channel. They did a show on how all of the above is horse puckey. I used to carry a J frame, but after watching that show, I'm really glad I never had to use it.

My 36 has a rail, as do my 30S versions.
Somebody said you could use a G19 holster; however my railed G36 won't go into the holster (custom made Kydex, NSR brand) for my railed G19's (gen 4), nor will it go into the same holster for my gen 3 G19. I believe a decent leather holster may accommodate both, but you should try first.
The only issue I have with the 36 are the finger grooves, but that could be easily fixed with some careful filing.
I'd stay away from the .45GAP; however it (and the .45HP) has functioned perfectly in all my Glock models (21's, 30S, 30, 36), but I don't usually do that.
All those above pistols also function perfectly using the cheapest, dirtiest, junky steel-cased ball you can find.

                    You ran 45gap through a glock 36?

You shot .45GAP through your .45ACP? Curious as to why and your outcomes.

Wanted to see if it worked. And it did. The question of what could be used in a pinch was a segment of a private shooting event, with several similar rounds that you may have to resort to in the event you had run out of your own ammunition. In this case, both the .45HP and the .45GAP worked well enough to function for through magazines, but the GAP round was not as accurate. The .45HP not only functioned 100% through 100 rounds, but it was as accurate as the .45ACP.

Alright fair enough, you learn something new everyday. That's crazy that the .45HP results were just as good as .45ACP.

Another thing I've learned is that the .45HP will often fully function in a variety of 1911's. I've actually tried it in about a dozen, including plain-Jane less expensive base models, to hi-end examples such as Nighthawks, Wilsons, etc.

But back to the G36; if the OP can manage the trigger, they will find it to be very reliable and easy to maintain.

The .45HP was developed for the European market in the 1980's as a way for civilian ownership of pistols that were based on the .45ACP, because in some countries civilians are prohibited or highly restricted in the ownership of military calibers. It is about 1mm shorter in case length, sometimes is loaded using small rifle primers, and has the bullet seated out just a bit farther (OAL) for positive functioning in typical ACP magazines. Some references claim it is loaded to slightly heigher pressures, but I have not bothered to chronograph any of it. With a 230 grain FMJ bullet, it does feel exactly like a stock ACP when fired.
I first saw it some time back when J&G Sales in Prescott was selling it really cheap; so cheap that it made sense for the components alone to be disassembled for reloading. It really shines though in revolvers using moon clips, and just like the 45GAP, the shorter length matters not. It worked out perfectly for use in a S&W 625, so I have lots of factory ammo for less than what it would have cost to assemble .45ACP reloads.
