Hello all, I'm new to the Forum this is my first post. I have a question pertaining to the Glock 36. I'm researching my next gun purchase, and when I started researching this glock 36 the first thing that jumped out at me is that I saw plenty of Internet feedback from forums about the Glock 36. They were mostly negative and they were also older posts from the early 2000s. The negative feedback all seem to stem from FTE and FTF. Knowing that this internet feedback is older, I was wondering if these problems that people reported and or perceived to be there still do exist with the Glock 36 or has Glock got this worked out?Thanks to all that have knowledge and experience with this firearm for your passing this on to me. I have had a couple of Glock 36’s (no rail) early version that had problems. Glock quietly ( like the early G42) made some changes and the later ( 6 digit SN )Glock 36 (no rail ) were good go. The Glock 36 Rail (Glock 36R called by Glock armor’s) is good to go. The Glock 36 no rail has been discontinued as of 2015ish. The Glock 36 With a Rail is off roster. Now before you say it isn’t. It is Glock put out memo about it. Some FFL got in hot water for selling them here in CA. ( can post there names n you can call them if you don’t believe me) You can even call Dave the CA Glock Rep. DOJ also rejected the Glock 36 with a rail. you have can buy one from a ppt or if you get it from a ffl that doesn’t know they are selling you a off roster gun. ( its off roster because of the change in the frame)

Yes. But remember they have been Discontinued so you have to get lucky and find a NOS (new old stock) Glock 36 No Rail. They sometimes are marked up a bit. If your looking for a range/fun gun, I would buy a G30. If your looking for a ccw pistol. I turn people to a Glock 39 in 45 GAP. Ammo is about buck more a box then 45acp

Ok, thanks for the info. I'll look into a G39. I have a Sig 220 and a 1911 and was kind of looking to stay in the. 45 ACP caliber. But not mandatory.

Not so true. Glock 36 no rail, Came in only Gen 3 ( if I remember right ) You can see the photos on GT. Also Rumors of Gen4 coming out have been passed around for the last 2 years but now the rumor mill is that Glock is going right to a Gen5 G36.

OP, if you want a 45 ACP try the G30 or G30 sf. I have both a G29 and G30 and I CC the G29 with little problem. I prefer my G29 so the G30 stays in the safe.

If you lived closer to me I would let you shoot my G30, I live in NorCal.

Facts:

I’m right there with you racefan. I just want the most capacity for my firearm as possible. I started a similar thread and a bunch of calgunners helped me out with there experiences. Most prefer the 30SF. I’m just hunting for a deal now... good luck finding/picking yours.

saw one at Poway Weapon n Gear couple of weeks ago. I wanted to compare the feel to the 30SF I have. the 36 feels like a shield, great for EDC summer carry. But the 30SF i have is darn accurate and a nice shooter. Glock store had the best deal at the time (January), 550 for the 30SF. Best from other shops were 589
