    Am I storing ammo wrong?

So went to the range today and had a ton of failed rounds, factory and reloads. The primers failed to go off, on multiple guns, rifles, pistols different calibers. None of the rounds are over 3 years old. I store my ammo on a shelf in my house so do i need to do something different?

Weird question too but is this ammo bought from local gun store, online, or bought from private party?

Odd. It's not likely storage unless you keep it all in the steamroom.

Bad gun stance or grip can do it as you could be buffering more of the force than you should (e.g weak grip). Let someone else fire the guns.

More than likely you have a gun problem, not an ammo problem, unless you use WD-40 to clean your guns. It’s a penetrating oil and will destroy primers.

Get a couple of ammo cans ($12 at Walmart) to store your ammo. It will protect them from the elements.

This was my first thought since it's multiple guns.

Ammo from multiple stores. And no not using wd-40 on guns almost exclusively using frog lube grease and oil. And clp for cleaning. Yeah maybe some ammo cans is a good idea. I was thinking about vacuum sealing. Took out several guns rifles and pistols and, only thing they have in common is where the ammo is stored and lube. But they all had a few bad primers

              Frog lube is poop

In fact, due to my horrible eating habits, my poop might have better lubrication properties than frog lube

Get some ammo cans, and some silica gel packs and done

or you can buy girl leggings the really fine ones and silica for cats and make your own gel packs

There's a reason the military - and MOST of us here - use, "ammo CANS."

                        Ammo isn’t your problem.

Frog lube was the first thing that popped into mind when I read the post. That stuff will gum up a firing pin channel faster than you can say, “don’t believe the hype.”

I’ll bet $10 the problems go away once you get that crap off your guns.

It’s probably how you try to cover both ears and close your eyes before you pull the trigger...

                            I kid, I kid!

But really, I had a closet that wasn’t as sealed as I expected it to be, and even though the boxes looked fine, some older cartridges developed corrosion and one of my rifles developed rust.

Now I use cans for all my people-popper food (and my wife gets that closet).

Yup. Frog Lube is the likely culprit. Having problems in winter more or less confirms it. That stuff is like molasses in cold weather and will really screw things up.

Use a real gun lube and throw that Frog Lube away.
