HK vp9 and Glock 26 gen 5Comment

Good choices. As you probably know, the VP9 goes for "a bit more" here in CA. Any Glock in Gen 5 as well. You might want to try a Gen 3 G26 out. Not a heck of a lot of difference for a whole lot less money. There are many that pop up in the marketplace here.
Holy Poop! I thought this was the thread with the guy looking for a sub $500 off roster gun. Sorry! LMAO!Last edited by 808@515; 09-07-2018, 8:30 AM.Comment

The gen 4 mag release, grip texture and adjustable grip size are an advantage for some Shooters IMO. If those features are important to you then the off roster tax is worth it.
If those things don't matter then the gen 3 is a fine choice.Comment

I rarely see threads with Glocks selling for $500+ getting responses. Maybe if they came with night sights and holsters, but pretty much never for just the stock package itself.
I think part of it is that Glocks are super popular, and PPT gives you some benefits - mainly, no tax and no 30 day waiting period. If someone's not in a hurry to sell once in a blue moon someone will come along willing to pay that price and boom, you've got yourself a sale.
Another (big) possibility is just that some people are used to people negotiating for things sold online, so they start at $500 and expect it to drop to $450 or so during negotiations.Comment

There are just as much good (or "reasonable") deals to be had in the Marketplace as the bad ones.
When you browse through, it seems everything is "high." Well of course it's like that... because guns with high asking prices are what's left on display after the good deals have already been swiftly and quietly snatched up!
At any given moment, the marketplace is *more* populated by a list of the sellers that are asking too much for their gun/parts. They also bump everyday and all day long.
When you click on the Marketplace (unless you're really lucky) it's simply a list of sellers that need more time to come to their senses, that is all.
If any given buyer wants a good deal and thinks he can just click on the marketplace and easily find a great deal any time, perhaps he needs to come to his senses too.
This place is inundated with guys that periodically come out of the marketplace and create a new thread about high prices.
This happens over and over and will continue until the end of time.
In the meantime, the good deals in the marketplace continue to be quietly snatched up.Comment

I think I’m gonna put my almost new G17 up for $600 now... because I can.
I can ask whatever I want - if it doesn’t sell, well that’s my business. If I wanna give it away for less, my loss.
There are a thousand reasons why someone might pay more for something than you would: Convenience, supply, time constraints, a decent salesperson, perceived value... besides, $50 is a drop in the bucket for most people; not enough to make or break a deal.Last edited by plumbum; 09-07-2018, 7:57 PM.Originally posted by ysr_racerPlease don't bring logic and reason into an interwebs discussion
