The Canik has an excellent trigger and feels great to shoot. I bet no one can beat the price either.

The listed pistols are all pretty decent and would do an excellent job. I have trusted my life to Berettas, Glocks, M&Ps, and Sigs. I currently alternate between a Glock and an M&P.

SIG BEATS GLOCK....AGAIN

I started out with Sigs, the classic P series and love them. Eventually moved to Glocks and when I first picked one up, it felt cheap and awkward. After spending a lot of time with them (and buying 8 Glocks in the process) I've come to appreciate the genius in the design. I do have to mod them to get them to how I like (sights, aftermarket triggers, aftermarket mag release) but after about $250 more into them, they are perfect. When I shoot my Sigs, they still feel like quality handguns but they feel unnecessarily tall and wide and yes, that muzzle flip is real. And that DA/SA system for carry and getting off that all important first shot is not ideal...for me.

The Glock grip angle is just a matter of practice. Lots of dry and live fire and it feels really natural on the draw. When I shoot my Sigs after lots of time with the Glocks, I find I shoot low. The brain adapts to whatever you are shooting eventually.

Also have a couple of Shields and the M&Ps are nice also. If I didn't live in CA and could get some other M&Ps for reasonable prices, I'd get some of those also.

Still love them all. How you could genuinely hate any brand of gun wholesale is beyond me.

I always thought the poly framed SA/DA Sigs were decent especially for the price. Those use different mags than the P-series right?

Are there any Sigs in the P-series on-roster that DO NOT have the CA skate board ramp LCI or mag disconnect? Can someone give me the scoop on that?

I'd consider a P226 or P220 since I have no sig hand guns only if there was some model without CA ramp LCI... or one popped up PPT. I passed on a nice used P226 a few years back. Should have bought it. I have some experience with Sig P6's and the one thing that really sticks out in my mind is HORRENDOUS triggers (besides a fit and finish much worse than my EG Makarov).

Are there specific models of P220 to look for? Are there CA models of P220 that are cut up?

That's the issue. You need to get "used" to the grip. That's a fail right there. Its not a natural pointing gun like the others. Its not a good starting gun either. Just buy a M&P at this point or a Canik. Better built glocks that don't suck.

Truthfully, I'm not sure there is anything natural about shooting a gun to begin with. Something that is exploding right in front of your face and forcing you to not flinch or blink or look away is something that you have to learn. I've found (as lots of people have) that a great feeling gun as soon as you pick it up doesn't necessarily translate into something that shoots well.

No argument against M&Ps, they are fantastic. Haven't tried a Canik but I'd bet I'd like that too.

On the Glock grip angle though, if it's a big deal for anyone, just install a Grip Force adaptor. $15 and 15 seconds later, your Glock will point just like a 1911 or M&P or Canik.
