    Springfield 1911's

I recently just picked up a Springfield Loaded Stainless for $600. It was a hell of deal, the gun was practically brand new. Someone just needed some cash for Christmas.

So, I now have three different Springfield 1911's, the Loaded, TRP, and Professional. Obviously they get better as they get more expensive but I feel like they are the best 1911's in each of the their price ranges. I believe that the Loaded is the best 1911 under $1000, the TRP is the best under $1500, and the Professional is the best in the $3000-3500 range. I plan on getting a MilSpec soon, as I believe there aren't any 1911's that compete with it in the $700 price range. Obviously this is just my opinion but I feel like Springfield does a very good job of catering to people of all price points with still producing a quality product.

They are great guns and I agree with your sentiment, I've owned the same guns along with a couple full rail TRP's and a couple variations of the Range Officer and my lone surviving SA which is an EMP. Don't like the direction the company has taken though so I've moved on.

    Love the Pro!

My TRP is one of my best 1911's, but I bought into the marketing hype, and think they are priced too high relative to Les Baers.

A TRP is a fancy marketed Loaded with front strap checkering. The Professional is not $1500 better than a Les Baer.

I've since moved onto hunting for bargain used Les Baers and Wilsons.

There was a time I dreamed of a Professional, but when it came down to it I just don't see the hype relative to other similarly priced $2K 1911's

So... your mil spec will cost more than the loaded...

Should look for a used one.

If anyone that currently has a SA 1911 and that doesn't like the direction the company is going would like to sell their crap-company 1911s just to get rid of them and show your unhappiness with them, please let me know. I will pay you $100 per Springfield Armory 1911.

            Together we will show them...

All jokes aside, if the OP buys a used one he is not giving money to SA. they already have that money.

Curious, do you own a professional?
I own both les Bare and a professional, and the fit of the les baer is tight, but the finish is gone after a few hundred rounds. Haven't had that issue with my professional

I love my Springfield's I have a loaded 45 Black Stainless, loaded target 9mm, EMP 9mm 3" and in jail a TRP full rail and can't wait to shoot it. The only Springfield that I didn't like and sold was a old Champion 45 that always gave me problems and kicked like a mule.

My EDC is a Springfield Mil-Spec I bought it new for around 400 bucks years ago. I did some work to it, and while it's not a TRP or other more expensive model, it shoots great and I trust my life to it.

Can't go wrong with a Springfield 1911 in any model IMO.

I never liked the ILS even though can be removed and I don't like how the appropriated the name of the actual Springfield Armory and have 0 to do with it and how many of the products are actually made in Brazil and Croatia.

In literally many hundreds of guns owned or currently owned by me he only Springfield Armory products I have ever owned was a M1a purchased used and a M6 scout I sold.

Agreed. I have the parkerized Loaded 1911 and its a lot of bang for your buck.
Never had any issues with it and shoots amazing.

Only mods done are some VZ thin grips/bushings and full length guide rod (hate that two piece it comes with) and extra mags!

I have a Mil Spec as well. I was very impressed with the quality despite it being on the cheaper end for 1911. I love mine, definitely not my last 1911 but it was a great starter.

I agree with you up until they get past the $1500 mark.

I can think of a few other models I'd prefer for ~$1500.
Dan Wesson comes to mind, and if you consider the used market, Les Baer is a great buy too.

For $3k to $3.5k I can have a full house custom done by a one man shop (as long as I don't add things like French border, etc.).

That said, very few companies can top Springfield's customer service.

What's the purpose of having the same gun three times? When you go to the range do you shoot them all at the same time? I don't get it.

SA seems to have a sale at all the local shops on 1911s right now. Seen good prices on mil-specs and loaded. I think I'm going to take the 1911 plunge and get a loaded.
