    Any thoughts?
If you just like the looks but don't like the weight, cost, or recoil https://www.pyramydair.com/s/m/Magnu...O2_Pistol/2184

    Revolvers are not pistols

pistol nouna handgun whose chamber is integral with the barrel
Calling a revolver a "pistol" is like calling a magazine a "clip", calling a shotgun a rifle, or a calling a man a woman.

Had a Desert Eagle and loved it. Needed some quick cash and it being a range toy, I decided to put it up for sale. I still mis it and will one day get another one. If you reload, they are great.

              I had four DE's at one time, a gold one in 44, a stock one in 44, a chrome 44, and a chrome 357.

I sold the gold and stock one. The gold one was a great gun but a little too over the top for me. I remember when I bought it I put three rounds down range. I thought I missed the target with the last two but when I brought in the target closer I found the one hole was really a very tight three holes. I understood what a DE can be if you just take your time.

The two I have left look great and the chrome is easy to clean, and a DE gets dirty. Chrome is the way to go as the only gun I ever had show rust was a stock DE, so I stripped the finish, polished the bare metal to 800 grit, oiled the crap out of it, and sent it to fords refinishing for the hard chrome job. They banged it out in a week.

The 357 is absolutely tame, the 44 isn't but its not as bad as a 357 SW 686.

The guns shoot softer than any other gun of the same caliber. The have a long sight radius so they can be accurate.

The down side is the trigger is heavy at 8 pounds stock and it can be gritty, but it is two stage like an AR so its manageable, although I would prefer something like a 2 pound trigger.

The weight is helpful to suck up recoil, and heavy guns also stay on target easier.

While I would prefer a high standard supermatic over a DE for an extended range trip, I would certainly not consider life without a DE. They are a pistol of considerable enjoyment for a shooter. Anyone who hates DE's probably can't afford one.

You can start by stopping this stupidity of calling it a "Deagle".

                  OT here:
But, it's not the worst made up/internet word in existence.
The game 'Counter-strike ' is what made the name/term popular.

                  As antoher side note..
Just because you like or dislike something, doesn't make it good or bad.

I enjoy the look and the shooting experience every time I take it to the range. If you can afford it and can afford to feed it, I say go 44

Try a little experiment. Take all the guns out of your gun safe. Now hold the safe straight out at shoulder level with one arm. Comfy? If it is, then you’ll like hefting the Deagle. As heavy as the gun may be, the single-action trigger is light and precise. The trigger pull is smooth, with a short, nice ‘n’ easy take up. Reset is faster than most DA pistols in lesser chamberings, which is irrelevant since accurate follow-up shots will be slower than erosion. The sights are very good and the long sight radius makes for accuracy. One-handed shooting is something best reserved for a scene in Jackass 4.0.

HA! I shared this exact sentiment for the longest time and just could not bring myself to call my Desert Eagle anything but its proper name.

Only recently have I succumbed and joined the Proud Order of Deagle Afficionados.

I resisted getting a Deagle for years and always considered them a giant brick of a gun that is expensive to buy and shoot and with no practical purpose. After going shooting with Stilly one time, he let me shoot a mags worth through his Deagle and I was hooked. Of course, it is still a giant brick of a gun that is expensive to shoot and with no practical purpose though.

The way I see it, it's no different than calling a Chevrolet a Chevy.

Then you slowly reach into your shoulder holster.
Then you sloooooowly pull out your DE.
When the BG sees the DE he runs away. Probably don't have to keep it loaded. Just give them the Dirty Harry look and pull it out.

I love mine, basic black in .44. Impractical as hell, but lots of fun to shoot. Its a real soft shooter, but is heavy as hell. If you have the means, then enjoy!

I now have two of them...both in 44 mag...love them! No real interest in converting to 50 cal. ...to expensive and way overpowered for my tastes.
I reload so I have found the best loads ...very reliable with the right loads...over 700 rounds thru my first one. Oh..and I put a 4X pistol scope on one of them...very fun shooting at 300 yard steel.
