I saw this video last week about someone comparing an EB, a LB and a WC at 5-yards slow fire:

At this range and cadence, even a "lowly" SA milspec can match the performance.
I'd say the LB shot better than the others. Or, he shot the LB better than the others. Or, 5 yards isn't really that great of a benchmark? You should be able to put all shots into a ragged hole at 5 yards.

Funniest thing about that video was how all of the smoke was coming back at the shooter! Someone needs to work on ventilation design at bit better!!!

Yup! +100 on that! (For a 1911, even a non-custom one, one ragged hole should be doable at 7-yards)

That distance is NOT enough to judge a gun's accuracy. Not even 10-yards is a good benchmark. He needs to push it out to 25-yards at least. But considering how he is performing at 5-yards, he needs a bench rest

which leads me to another thread

You turn to a Ransom Rest.
Now I have one, and will be starting to test everything I own, and maybe in the future others will want to meet up at a range to put their gun through the test.

Now that you mentioned it - it was the worst Saturday morning at the OC Indoor Shooting Range. You could see the getting cloudy/murky with the smoke! I had to take a breather outside in the open for a few minutes... because someone forgot to TURN ON the ventilation. *ugh*

Sometimes I think of getting those face masks for poorly ventilated/managed ranges...

Dude are you in LA? I am in no way associated with this guy or is his buddy or anything. His dog has pancreatitis and he happens to need the money to treat him/her. What's more important is that he is willing to depart with his barely shot CBOB for an incredible price of only $1050. I mean this should help you decide...

That's a great price but I'm buying through my credit card so I have to buy brand new.

Ha! I imagine a Lorcin or Cobra also compares favorably to those guns at 5 yards in those conditions.

Ahh okay, if I wasn't saving up for something I would be all over this.

I have a couple of DWs and a TRP with rail. Last week, I turned down a non-rail TRP offer from my FFL to stalk yet another DW. I may finance it by selling the TRP.

Your options (and if I lived in S. Cal, that CalGunner's DW would be gone.)

                    Buy New: $1600 + 136 (8.5% sales tax) = $1736.
                    Buy Used: $1050 + $52.50 (5% cash advance on CC) + $10 (PPT Fee) = $1112.50

Cash advances usually charge a higher interest rate than a basic purchase, so you'll need to pay it off quickly, but you're still $600 to the positive.
