I have shot both. I own a full rail trp and it's boring. Whenever I get the chance to go out and shoot it, it never fails not to hit where I am aiming. Get something that you'll miss once in a while

Full rail. Cause I want a full railed 1911.

The friends of mine that have a CBOB all say it's their favorite gun. Don't have one myself but did look at the TRP and got the Les Baer TRS.

I had a TRP and the 20 LPI was very harsh for me. I own 2 Dan Wessons... A CBOB and a Heritage.

Not sure why, but Dan Wessons never appealed to me in the looks dept. just sort of 'there'. The SA TRP and especially the Full Rail have a purposeful look to them. That said, I'd save a few more bucks and go Les Baer. Those are no nonsense built to perform shooters guns.

But out of you two, I would get the TRP.

            Happy shooting and be safe.

I like the way the Les Baer has the undercut trigger guard, I can get a better/higher grip. Or, maybe it just fits my hand better. The trigger on a TRP is nice, but my LB is much better. The smoothness of the slide feels different to me too. Just my opinion. Maybe I'm looking at my LB thru Baer goggles. LOL!

And, no, I haven't put any of those things on a shot-timer.

And this is just the superficial side of me, I just LOVE the way the bluing wears on the LB. They're one of very few 1911's that are blued from the factory. In fact, since Colt no longer has anything on the roster, I think LB may be the only ones left? I can't remember. Most of the other pistols are either parkerized or have coating type of finish.

Now, don't get me wrong, I LOVE SA pistols. My first gun was a Loaded 1911 stainless. SA has always treated me right. Similar to Dillon. Always a no questions asked policy. No weaseling out of sending a replacement part or answering questions. I've got 2 more SA pistols and probably a 3rd on the way for the wife. (XD's). My holy grail of 1911's would be a Railed Pro. I actually ordered a set of the Pro's cocobolo grips from SA for my LB. Not sure why, but the shape of those grips (even though they're slightly thinner front to back from OEM/VZ) gives my hands a little meat to hang on to when shooting.

              Happy shooting and be safe!

I feel like the full tail TRP is a nice gun only because of the extra weight in the front and the adjustable sight. The Cbob is almost the polar opposite with fixed sights and lighter all around well balanced gun, it's like comparing apples and oranges. I mean what do you want to do with the gun? The Cbob has a bobbed tail as well.

                I would personally go Cbob.

Because I have a full sized 1911 already and I love it, I just want a commander 1911 to complete the corral. I also like the bushing vs bull barrel.

The Cbob is a better balanced gun as well, easier to control. I have always wanted a Vbob or Cbob .....

If you're trying to accurately compare a trp full rail I would be looking at a Dan Wesson PM7 or specialist

DW. Never understood what the admiration was with the TRP. I have a stable of 1911's and feel the TRP isn't even in the same fit and finish league as the DW's. I feel performance wise they will be close but the fit and finish will be much better in the DW.

I 2nd the Dan Wesson. Its a much better fit, finish and overall pistol. DW will also have a better trigger. Good luck with your decison. Ps.. I own a PM7 and MC Operator.

For me, I would buy the TRP full rail over the Cbob mainly because I feel the Cbob is overpriced and I own a Cbob. While the Cbob is a great carry gun and fun to shoot, The TRP is a better bang for the buck and has all the bells and whistles.

Benchmade or Spyderco? Bowtech or Mathews? Fender or Gibson?

DW is just made to a higher standard with better parts. DW Specialist in 9mm will be my next 1911.

                              CBob vs TRP, TRP wins
VBob or PM7 or Specialist or Guardian vs TRP, the Wessons win
