Actually I do understand his point. The two guns have totally different design. As such many people agree the PM-9 handles recoil better then the Shield.

Personally my hands are a bit large for either, but the KAHR shoots as well as my G-42 and is a full inch smaller. Personally I don't like the grip on the shield but love the grip on it's double stack predecessor the M&P Compacts.

Everyone is different which is why people suggest people shoot both before they buy.

Yeah, did you not hear the words that are coming out of my mouth?

Did you ever a shoot a PM9? I'll repeat. It's a soft shooter for a subcompact, which is amazing for a small pistol.

I own both. I've shot the pm9 about the same amount as my shield.

Bottom line is. The Kahr is a quality gun. But for pocket carry it is too big and heavy, I have an LCP for that. For IWB, I have the Shield. There are very few instances that the Kahr is relevant for carry (for me). If I was in a self defense situation, if I were to miss 7 times the Kahr would be a paperweight. The shield would be a gun with 2 more rounds. And those complaining about the shields trigger are waay too picky. Either that or I just shoot bad triggers well.

I think the Kahr CW9 is also worth looking into. Mine was around $280 when I bought it new. One thing I don't like about Kahr is their warranty. Its only a few years, heard their customer service sucks. My Kahr was always really reliable though. I ended up selling it because I got sick of the long DAO trigger.

If you own a PM9, I don't know why you're so surprised that someone says it's a soft shooter. After 2-4 mags of the Shield, I was done. But the PM9, even after 150-200 rounds, it's fun and my hands don't hurt.

I do own AND SHOOT the PM9. That's why I'm saying IMO that it is definitely NOT a softer shooter than a Shield

I don't own the CW9 or PM9 but I do own (and have carried) a CW380 and it has been extremely reliable (with specific ammo mind you).

I'm deadly accurate with it at 5-7 yards and I wouldn't hesitate in taking it everywhere with me.

For some reason, I can't hit crap with the shield...of course I'm sure that's shooter-related.

Well, OP, here's an example of why it's helpful to try them both before buying. Two people with different opinions.
My range didn't have a PM9 and I hadn't shot it before, but bought it anyway. Figured if I didn't like it, I can just sell it. Or you can hear opinions from bunch of Internet folks and rely on majority opinions.

I don't have a CCW, so I may end up selling it down the road, but I'm having hard time letting go, because it's such a great shooter. Very accurate too, upto 7 yds, for me.

I rented one at a range a couple of years ago. Quite a few failure to feed/eject (yes i know, it's a rental that probably had never been cleaned), but I've never before and never since have had a rental that had as much trouble as that one. As someone looking to purchase a handgun, I decided that it wasn't for me, and just haven't looked at them since.

Sig 938 or Kimber mini 9 is a great choice, if you can get one here. They are both much more money too. Shields are being discontinued for ver. 2 and are being discounted with a rebate. PSA has great prices on them, the 45 for $244.

For a self defense mouse gun, the Shield is ideal.

Neither of the Wife's KAHRs or mine (2) have ever had a feeding issue. Some KAHR's need a 200 round break in. Some early KAHR's had feeding issues not really an issue these days. Most "Feeding issues" with KAHRs and other sub compacts is really limp wristing.

If you're concerned with Kahr's reliability, seems to me the decision is simple. Just get the Shield.
