Sig P239. I have one in .40 and it shoots like a full size despite being quite thin and small. Lots of fun. In 9mm it holds 8 + 1 and recoil must be negligible.

9mm is not hard to shoot, even a light weight pocket gun.

Might not be as easy to control as a bigger, heavier gun but its not gonna break your wrist or your nose like giant revolvers do in some youtube videos.

Depends on your hands. For me, double stack grips feel better to me. My 9mm 1911 wears fattish Pachmyer grips.

My Shield is not nearly as comfy, but that's not what it's for. But I have no CCW permit, so I really don't know why I have it, but that's a different issue all together! If I could get a permit, then the shield is where it's at. IMHO that's why you get a single stack.

Oh, and I bought my 1911 9mm single stack just in case I wanted to shoot it in USPSA single stack division.

Ditto. I shoot it competently, I shoot it often enough to stay that way, but it's not what I'd choose to shoot 200 rounds through for fun.
