HP-Practical, 2003. Everything stock but the grips and removed mag disconnect.

CZ-75b duo tone, 2009. Again all stock but the grips.

The P-01 and the 75D Compact "PCR" both have an aluminum alloy frame with de-cockers, which makes them lighter and ideal for carry, if you like to carry mid-size "compact" pistols.

I'm a huge CZ fan, but there is something to consider. Being that the slide runs inside of the frame helps with recoil, accuracy, and ultimately with follow up shots. However, with that you do lose real estate for racking the slide.

Shoot one. You'll find out if it's 'Meh or Magic' for you.

I love glock with passion but i rented a cz 75b (not even their sp01 model) and i shot better with it than my glock 34.

I tried to rationalize it by telling myself that a cz is as heavy as a brick and would be a drag to carry about in competition but truthfully im a strong dude who can carry about a brick without issue.

I am going to buy one for my bday.

The good old CZ75B is very similar to a Hi-Power and is super reliable.

You can get a trigger job for it and then you have an awesome pistola.

The stock sights on the CZ75B suck. Replace them with the Meprolight Tru-glow Tritium sights.

I did the above and now my CZ75B (40 S&W) is among my very favorite handguns.

I also started off with a 75b rental and was pleased with the way it felt and shot. Just bought a SP-01 a few days ago and pick it a few days before my birthday for a gift to myself.

This was a quote from another thread. If you are open to all pistols, you will be doing yourself a big dis-justice if you don't at least shoot a CZ SP-01 before you decide not to even buy one. There is a reason why so many people love this model. Are you afraid you will get hooked after you drink the CZ Koolaid?

Idk. I don't like the match sights they put on them.

CZ does not put match sights on their stock SP-01. The sights are Meprolight Tru-Dot and these are ok for all purpose but if you plan on target shooting, then many change them out to Dawson fiber optic front sights and competition rear sights. There are so many upgrades available for the CZ SP-01 that pretty much the sky is the limit.

Here is my tricked out one from Cajun Gun Works.

Speaking of competition... The vast majority of CZ's represented by this survey are SP-01's and the vast majority of Glocks represented are G34's.
It's not too heavy for the top USPSA shooters. The High Power is not on the Approved Production List because it's SA.

From all my travels, I have to say Czech has the best and most consistent 9s and 10s. Both city and country side. You can easily find some 10s in nearby Germany and all Nordic countries but you also get a lot of Catlin Jenners.

                                Also Czech has great beer.
