CGW sent the gun to Ford Gun Refinishing and did a brushed hard chromed with matte rounds finish which cost $275.

Copperhead finish is very nice. I have a 97BE Copperhead and it shoots just as accurate as my Wilson Combat CQB Elite.

I, too find it odd, when you can get a Classic like a Colt or Smith & Wesson

These are the ugliest pistols I have ever seen.. But apparently they're functional and people love them so maybe one day I'll take the dive into another weapons platform that isnt heavily supported, like my beretta px4.

For some reason they are some of the best looking pistols to me. I don't own one, yet.

Everyone has different taste. It's apparent that the OP does not want to like the CZ platform or even give it a shot before making his decision. Lost cause so let's move on and end this thread. He will be much happier with his Beretta.

It's original claims to fame were it was a high-cap that you can cock and lock. That doesn't matter to most people in this state because they can't carry, and don't have a bunch of pre-ban magazines like I do.

If you just shoot at the range, you're probably better off with a West German SIG, although a CZ is nearly as good for a lot less money.

Can't go wrong with a High Power... Like the CZ, it's going to need some trigger work, but the Quality is excellent. The bluing on mine is really nice!!
Plus it's on the roster, so you're good to go.

The high power wasn't for me at all. I tried to like it. Two issues; I didn't think the finish was all that great. Secondly, with my size hands I got hammer bit a few times with it. That 'Effing hurts. OP, the latter may be concerning for you if you haven't handled a BHP yet.

Talk about a garbage looking gun... PX4 is ugly AND sucks to shoot. No wonder you don't get CZs

PX4 is a work of art in motion sir.

                            Question?

But after so long of reading all the rave and fan talk, I decided to go rent one at the local indoor gun range. I just loved the way it fit my hand. It just felt like it was carefully molded just for my grip. And even with the rental gun which I'm sure gets used and abused without so much as a clean and lube job, it fired perfect and was extremely accurate. I mean I shot really well with it. So I bought a CZ 75 SP-01 and it is fantastic. I can't miss with that thing. Now I am a fan for sure and I have already bought another CZ pistol which I can't even dros yet. I will start the dros this Saturday on a CZ 97B. Can't wait to get that one. Then I wouldn't mind having a CZ 75 SP-01 Tactical chambered in 40 cal. But that one isn't on roster so I'll have to wait on that one. I'm planning to move to Arizona and when I do I'll buy that one direct from Cajun Gun Works already worked over by David.
Heard a lot of the CZ pistols but never thought about owning one till now. Which models are on roster?

Long story short is they are all steel handguns (for the most part) and suck up a lot of the felt recoil due to the extra weight. The slide is so small because the design; the slide runs inside the frame, making it have an extremely low bore axis. I don't think anyone is carrying these simply due to how heavy they are. But for $600 and a trip to the custom shop you will have a fantastic range toy!
