You're not alone. I have had zero problems with the stuff. Works great. Slides and bolts treated with FL feel like they're running on ballbearings. Cleans up great too.

Nitrile gloves are a good solution. I've touched nasty petroleum based solvents in the past without gloves. Guess I'm lucky my skin is still attached and I haven't got the cancer...at least so far.

Most often, it's for cooking. Sometimes, it's used to lubricate amusement park tracks. If you're a good BS'er, you can make it smell good and market it as a firearms lubricant. You don't have to verify your performance claims since, unless your customers are stupid, they know that the stuff can actually "penetrate the metal pores".

Used Froglube for some time and it works well... but it tends to gum up after a while...

Now, Im using M-pro 7 or Hornady Oneshot dry lube.

If OP has not encountered any issue using motor oil, why not keep at it?

I don't know why, but I find gun lube threads highly entertaining.

I have to click on them.

I have been using synthetic bacon grease for a while now in my guns. Seems to work better than regular bacon grease.

How many pounds of bacon to fill your crock pot with warm fat?

Any issues with flies while shooting on a warm day?
