Glock 19 gen 3 failures... help!

Yeah, just on the last round.

Then I would not rule out weak magazine spring.

It was probably a combination of weak magazine springs together with strong recoil spring.

I had the exact same issue, but it only happened with hollow points. The issue is fairly common. If you contact Glock, they will send you replacement followers, though even those are not a guaranteed fix.

I know you tried 15 round mags and had the same issue, but it is s conceivable that your friends 15 round mags, for whatever reason, may have the same followers as your 10 round mags. If you have the chance, call your friend and ask what type of followers he has. If he has the 2183 followers, those are the ones that seem to cause issues. If not, perhaps it is simply a recoil spring that needs replacing. Also, does your slide consistently lock back with an empty mag? If not, mag springs may be an issue.

Always locks back on last round so far, hasn't been an issue.

Osty, where are you located? Maybe a suggestion to try out a different brand of magazine, I have a magpul mag brand new that you are more than welcome to try, this could rule out 2183 followers, I was having this same issue using perfecta ammo in a g17 with 2183 followers, once I switched to 9mm3 followers the issue had vanished, currently I have a g19 with both mags using the 2183 follower, going to go out this weekend and put ammo through this gun(brand new) and see if I am doomed to the issue.

I know you keep saying it's not the mag but my G19 was having the exact same issue of the nose of the bullet getting hung on the feed lip.

Changed out the 2183 followers and issue went away. This was on a gun that had over 1,000 rounds with zero prior issues.

Surprised anyone would suggest limp wristing it, but thank you for sharing the problem, if I ever get to that kind of round count and start having issues, I'll come back. Naw, it's a gen 3 I got back in April 2015. April-December of 2015 I put the 10k through.

Still haven't cleaned it since my last range trip where I put 3-4 hundred through, but without a detailed strip here's some pics of the internals. I'm not normally this negligent with cleaning, so don't shame me! Everything looks fine to me!

Dude you have the 2183 followers. Do yourself a favor and at least change the followers and try it. Process of elimination. EVERYTIME myself amd my friend buys 10rnd mags, we dont even shoot them, we automatically change the followers or you will eventually have problems.

I will tell you what, i will lend you my 10rnd G19 mag with a good follower and you can just mail back or we can meet up if your local. I may even have a follower i can send you.

Ive worked on cars and electronics and you would be suprised of problems that occur from the simplest thing ever and they usually dont make sense.

Well, from what I've read, if I express grievances to Glock they'll just send them to me.

Also not to sound totally stupid, but I've been unable to take apart the ca legal 10 round Glock mags. Does anyone else have trouble with them?

I had this problem before.
Anyways the fix I used was to make sure the ramp in the chamber is cleaned. No blemishes on it super smooth it fixed it

Oh dude the 10rnd glock mags are horrific to take apart. I broke a baseplate doin so.
My friend saw a trick. He used visegrips and put a rag to protect a lil but. He vised the sides of the mag just wherr your suppose to squeeze. He put the visegrip on that area then used the screw on visegrips to slowly tighten. Once its squeezed, you just use small screwdriver or whatever to put into the baseplate hole and force it off or you can put screwdriver into hole and tap the screwdriver. It was a real pain but the visegrips allowed me to take the baseplate off easily.

There maybe a you tube video on using vise to remove baseplates. It seems only the stupid 10rnd Cali mags are hard to take apart. Normal 15rnds you can do with your hand.

I use a C-clamp and masking tape to protect the finish of the mag. I put a short pin to unseat the baseplate retainer and move it off the way. I then use a rubber mallet and carefully tap the base plate off.

It's not clear. Did this problem just start after ~10k rounds?

The hang up on last round problem is usually there from the start.

Probably a minor issue of parts wear. Curious to see what resolves it.
