QFT!!!! (except the part about the 6.8 garbage) lol.A boy's first gun ought to be a .22lr rifle. Followed by a .22lr handgun.
Then you can spend 2 cents a round LEARNING HOW TO SHOOT WELL AND ACCURATELY.
Do this, instead of buying some FPS videogame / Anime cannon or caliber oddity whose ammo is so expensive that you won't ever shoot it enough to be good with it.
Then buy a good defensive pistol, shotgun, a milsurp rifle, a hard-hitting semi-auto rifle or bolt action, THEN go piss away your money on that .50 Deagle, FN 5.7, Beowulf AR, 6.8 garbage, .357sig anything, etc.Comment

Um..not to sound like a ***, but do you own one or spent any time with one?The 5.7 has similar ballistics to that of a 22 mag. Ammo is harder to find than most due to its "exotic" caliber label (like the 10mm). The gun recoils like a .22, which is nice for rapid fire. As for your first handgun, if the 5.7 is what you really want, get it... but I recommend shooting one first. My personal first gun preference would be a .40 due to its controllable recoil and stopping power.
FNH themselves have said the recoil from the 5.7 is 75% of a 9mm.
Ive seen many people compare it to a .22 and I dont understand why. There is NO comparison between the two.
As far as ammo goes, there are more and more ammo mfg's every day (check the five seven forums) so while I wouldnt say your going to grab some at the local sporting goods store, you can find it very easily and have it shipped.Comment
