Unless it was a limited production gun or collectors item, who cares what the serial number is!

yup, basically this. if my dealer gets in a batch of new guns, I'll glance at them to see if there are any cool serial numbers, 007, 666, etc, but if not, no big deal.

now, if it was serial number 1 and 2 off the original production line, then that set of sequential numbers might be worth something.

Like everything else I'll let sellers list them for whatever they want.. They'll learn to lower their price when it sits for months with no takers.

I have a pair of sequential Webley .38 revolvers that were issued to the London metro police. I thought it was cool that they are a matched pair.

No value to sequential numbers, but if you are getting identicial models for you and a loved one, I think it's kind of cool.

When I was working part time at a LGS, I found a Colt M4 with three numbers which had great significance to me followed by "666." I just had to have it. BTW, that rifle shoots straight as an arrow.

More of a conversation piece. Unless it is serial number 00001, or the number happens to be your birth date, it's pretty meaningless.

Guns or anything that is made to be a collector item generally isn't.

Kinda funny you mention this... The last three on one of my AR lowers is 619 which was the selling point for me

Look in the marketplace and you'll see that some guys never learn.

When I bought my last lowest, the shop owner let me pick the number. It wasn't a big deal to me, but he had xxxx426, so I got that. My AR has a hemi. If I got two, and sequential, then I'd have a pair of muscle car engines.

I have an AR lower with 556 but I wouldn't pay more for it

I have two Israeli surplus Hi Powers that are sequentially numbered. I find it cool, kind of a novelty.
And also a miracle that the pair managed to stay together from production, issue and use, all the way to import and sale.
