    Less than 10 rounds capacity question. / EDITED.

    This subject came up at the range last weekend.

    Since I am exempt from the roster and magazine capacity laws , I don't follow the subject that much .

    The question was:

    What are the most popular OFF ROSTER or ON ROSTER handguns in California that use 10 or less round magazines by their original design? In other words , handguns that are used with ten or less round magazines in free states. ( for example single stack 1911, Walther PPK , Sig P220 etc).

              (Gen 4 Glocks)
              G26 = 10 rounds
              G27=9 rounds
              G33 = 9 rounds
              G29 = 10 rounds
              G30 = 10 rounds
              G39 = 6 rounds
              M&P 45 = 10 rounds
              Beretta 86 = 8 rounds
              Most 1911 style guns in 45ACP are under 10 rounds

                    1911 probably the most popular.

                        Depends on what it's used for. Since you're asking for off roster (I'm assuming still in production and semi-auto), definitely the non-CA variants of the Shield, G42/43, Sig P238/938 for CCW.

                        Range usage only is a whole other animal. Many players in that game.

                              OK - I'll bite. Why would you (exempt from CA law likely a LEO) need to know such a thing. If you don't pay much attention to CA law why bother? If you are looking for a new pistol and are really exempt, you don't have to worry about mag capacity anyway. If you are asking for someone else, there are more important things for them to consider than mag capacity.
