My issue with Sig

I know of an Orange County agency that uses them and they have a lot of issues with them. So much so that the head range master at our department called jam-o-matics. Not good when you want to come home alive......

I don't own any but I plan on buying a 220 in 10mm. I'd like to at least give it a fair chance before really denouncing it.

As an owner of three American made SIGs, I really think the above is an internet myth. My opinion is that U.S. manufacturing is generally just as good or better than the Germans. But if someone wants to pay more for a German made SIG that has been rode hard for a few years, go right ahead. I'm sure you'll be happy with it.

I've never had a jam with any of my Yanqui SIGs which are all 9mm. They're excellent pistols. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!

If you don't like SIGs or if you believe the internet myths, go buy an S&W Glock copy whatever and have a happy and healthy life.

My department issued Sigs from 1990-2012 and abandoned them due to poor quality control. Barrels were no longer guaranteed interchangeable, springs breaking, slides cracking magazines malfunctioning at alarming rates etc.... So glad we finally moved on. They were great up until we traded in our P229's for the P226 with rails. Real junk, IMHO, and nothing like the German predecessors. While I'm sure some of their more pricey guns are quality pieces, I don't believe those made for the masses are of the same quality they were known for. So, so glad we went to Glock 9's and for a bit under a third of the price too.
