    That's simply not true.

Exeter Sigs are every bit as good as German Sigs, that's nothing but hype.

Also, Sig uses a few different manufactures for magazines, MecGar being one of them. Unfortunately, lately, they have been exclusively using Checkmate mags, which is a poor decision IMO.

I dunno. I think they look great, especially the Mastershop guns.

Those sig 1911 basepads are junk. Same thing happened to me (dont have sig 1911 just sig mags) I just replaced them with wilson combat basepads.

My Sig had to be sent back after 5 rounds. They took care of everything in a two week turnaround. It's been flawless since. No complaints here.

Yeah, I'm certainly in the minority there. Most everyone likes them. I can't really explain it, but since the first time I saw them in the eighties, they have rubbed me the wrong way.

I will never buy a Sig 1911 again. After 800 test rounds at the factory and 3 trips back..they could never get that gun to work...even after their best people worked on it. They finally gave up and sent me a refund check.

The problems were probably isolated to the Sig 1911 magazines.

New Sig owner. So far zero problems.

I agree. I have both in 220. I found a really good price in a 220r two years ago and was thinking I'd put my German 220 away for posterity. First time out slide wouldn't go full battery. Haven't found the problem, haven't had the time yet, but I suspect the slide has a hangup at a certain point which is odd because I believe the recoil spring is 20#, a lot more than the German.

Was this suppose to be a Sig Sauer 1911 bashing thread? News Flash, there is only one original 1911. If it doesn't have a pony it's a baloney. Next time buy Colt. Wait-a-minute...Californicate says "No-No".

What did you do to the mags to make Sig look bad? I've been shooting sigs for 87 years and I've never had even one malfunction in 200,000 rounds.

                          Just Kidding, I would never...

P220 Elite and P226 Elite have both been flawless carry weapons. There's just something sexy about a metal framed gun.

I don't have a SIG 1911, but have a bunch of mags for my other 1911s. Those base pads look wrong or are possibly broken?

Here's one of my WC ETMs that have a similar mounting. Note the "wings" on the mag body slide into the slots on the base pad.

I would agree with this thread completely if if wasn't for the fact that my Sig tactics ops 1911 is by far my most accurate and reliable pistol I own. And after polishing the internals, you'd be hard pressed to show me a better shooter for under $1500.00.
My Sig mags are just as nice as the Wilson mags I have. I'm no fan boy, but facts are facts.
C'mon guys, come to the San Jose monthly shoot and prove me wrong. I dare you.
