    Someone needs to stay out of the liquor and/or medicine cabinet.

    Hi Point

    XD

    But then again it does not look like the HK either

    Similar to glock

    Kinda like a cross between Golck and HK

      I really wish I could warm up to Glock, but I don;t seem to be able to. I did just recently shoot one in 9mm (34) I think that felt o.k., but I LOVE my XD 5".

      I've actually been looking to buy a used Glock so I can give it some time and attention to see if I can get over my lack of love for the Glock.

        +1

        Glocks are world-class weapons, but I just can't passed how much I hate the feel of the grip. My XD, on the other hand, feels superb. I love the balance/feel of the 5" model.

          I like the glock better because I seem to shoot better with it, it fits my hand better and it looks cooler (in my opinion)...

            Between the two, XD.

            I have the same issue with the Glock as most, as I don't have any issue with it as far as quality and durability. It is the shooting grip angle and the trigger to which I find the XD is better over the Glock. I have ranged several Glocks over the years but could not get myself to the point of buying one.

            The XD .45acp has been a solid performer for me, feeds everything and shoots great for a poly gun. All metal trigger is superior over the Glock to me.

                ....

                Funny but my favorites are :

                9mm --> Glock 19

                .45acp --> Springfield xd45 4" compact.

                so depends.... i tried out a few brands in each caliber and wanna restrict my cost for each one to under $600,...

                but these shoot good enough for me for now.. sure other ppl would like more $$$ ones like 1911 but that's out of my range...

                    It's obvious by the poll, you need to buy both.

                    Honestly what it tells you is, both owners are very happy with their Glock and XD, buy the one that feels best in your hand, and you have a winner.

                      Indeed it does tell that. But I believe it also tells something else. Trying to set my bias aside... The XD has been available for MUCH less time than has the Glock and is just as popular. This says to me that the XD will easily surpass the Glock in a short time as the go to gun.

                        I'm going to buy an XD in .40.

                        I grew up shooting my dad's glocks, and they are sweet...they have had extensive massaging by glock armorors being that my dad carried/qualifid with them for 15-20years on duty as an LEO. But, I am just less bothered by the XD's grip safety than the funky grip angle of the glock. From a practical standpoint, they are equally reliable. And if its a parts availability issue, I prefer my sig over both as a go-to while I wait.

                          I choose a XD-9 because of it's ergonomics. It fits my hand really well. Glocks and XD are great pistols. I would recommend going out to your local range and shoot some?

                              Tied it up!

                              I had them both and the Glock is the better one for me. I love the grip angle and the fact that the slide sits real low. Best part is anyone can be a Glock smith. Tools??? A punch for the pins, front sight nut driver, bass punch and hammer for rear sight. If you really want to get fancy get a rear sight tool. If something were to break it would be the trigger spring and the Glock can still be fired by pining the trigger back after each shot or racking the slide with the Glock upside down.

                              I will say that the Springfield Custom Shop competition job on a XD9 tactical is very sweet. The trigger is amazing. IMO I think they suck stock - Bad finish, unnecessary grip safety and long trigger reset.

                                im going to have to go against with what most people argue about glocks... i was set on buying an XD9 as my first handgun untill i held the glock 17.. i have big paws and the glock actually fits my hand very well.. the grip angle and low slide hieght = less muzzle flip for me than the XD..

                                1 more vote for glock...
