Glock or Springfield XD?

Which one do you like better and why?

I choose the XD because I can't handle the glock grips. The hollow backstrap is too large.

XD fits my hand better but oddly I shoot just as good with either one.
Note: The only glock I've used is a G19 my buddy owns. Held the fullsize and was less than satisfied.

I like both for shooting but I do not like the XD grip safety at all. The 2nd reason is I don't like the fact that you have to disable a safety to break the XD down. You also have to remove a safety to even check for a loaded chamber. You should not have to squeeze the grip safety to break down the gun or to pull the slide back to check for a loaded condition.

I owned an XD40 and XD9SC and currently have a Glock 23 and Glock 36. I choose either because for shooting they will both do fine but here is my pros and cons.

The XDs felt better in my hand.

Glock 23 is slimmer and slightly more compact than the XD40 service.

XD has steel sights as standard.

I have hi-caps for my Glocks.

XD trigger breaks more smoothly than the Glocks.

XD has a loaded chamber indicator. No need for press check.

Also, if you are breaking it down for cleaning what difference does it make that you are disabling the safety? Keep you finger OFF the trigger before you are sure it's unloaded. Then break it down and finger the whole thing all you want.

I like Glocks... they are so simple it's stupid! and that's perfect for ME! I remember the first time taking my G29 apart to clean it. I was like uh.... that's it?

AFAIK, only the Glock & XD lines have passed the Glock torture test. Every other gun I've seen tested fails at least one of those tests.

I like the XD a bit more solely because it fits my hand much much better. I found the G17 to be somewhat uncomfortable (I have small hands), but was still solid nonetheless.

i have glocks and XD's. i prefer the XD, it's like a refined glock.

I'm 100% Glock guy. Nothing again XD, it's dependable decent pistol but Glock fit me better.

Having owned a Glock 19 and now XD Tactical in 45cal. I can say the grip angle/pointability and the extra "no-brainer" safety features makes the reliable as a hammer XD my choice.
