I don't know, I'm kind of in the middle right now. I own both an XD and a Glock. Accessories like holsters, especially light-bearing, are way easier to find for Glocks since they are so widely used in LE, as well as other applications. I love my XD but I'm starting to lean over to the Glock side...I may end up with mostly Glocks in my gun collection. They are just great.

Love my G19 with a 3.5 Scherer connector.
I polished the internals and adjusted the reset so it is such a light trigger and has a very short reset....
It is like buttahhhhhhhh!!!

Its points pretty natural. But if it doesn't for you, ever thought about moving or canting your wrist so the three dots line up? And where did you get the info that LAPD can't hold them properly because that sounds a little off.The GLOCK is an over-hyped POS. Clunky -- too big for it's caliber. For all the "simplicity" blowing it gets on this thread the simple fact is that it doesn't point where you want it to. All the LAPD cops that have them complain they can't hold them properly. Until they make a new grip frame entirely: First choice, 1911., Second choice XD. Third, P-99
A decent shooter can adjust to whatever frame angle it may be. Sure, everyone has their preferences, but what you're doing is just bashing a company just because it didn't work out for you.Comment

Which caliber is that? Glocks come in all calibers and barrel lengths. The GLOCK is an over-hyped POS. Clunky -- too big for it's caliber. ALL the LAPD officers that have them as issued service weapons complain about them? That just seems a bit off to me.
1911's are nice and I like them as well but as an issued service weapon, I am not sure I would want to carry one. A Glock offers something in that regard that many other guns cannot. And you can field strip it with one hand...in a few seconds...Comment

LOL, I would love to see the XD's and M&P'S do a side by side torture test like being burried in sand then afterwards fired tested.
Because I have tortured tested my Glocks. I am into competition shooting since 1994. And if you really want to test your guns bring it to Norco.
From having my gun drop from my holster accidentally and magazine filled with sand and grit and didn't have time to clean. The Glock kept going like the Energizer bunny!sigpicComment

Have you always struggled with reading comprehension or is this just a fluke?
The question was not which is better for me. The question is which do YOU prefer and why.
I answered THAT question as have most in this thread."people shouldnt be bumping sold stuff. but it is hard to herd cats." - rkt88edmoComment

both are great. obviously, whichever fits your hand better is the one for you.
glocks are clearly excellent weapons, but for me its XDOriginally posted by pappabaconI never kept those who let me put my roll pin in the wrong hole, I know what kind of lower receivers they are. Probably let anyone come along and stick their roll pin in there.Comment

like the op said the xd fits my hand better, but i shoot just about the samr with either one...I'm the best there is at what I do. But what I do best isn't very nice. --James "Logan" HowlettComment

I used to say Glock... 'till this past weekend.
I have a G17, and love the simplicity. My sister uses a XD9, Tactical 5" with a competition trigger job on it. OMFG!!! I am going shopping for one as soon as possible. Loved the trigger job. My G feels like crap compared. I know lots has been said about the grip safety, but being a 1911 guy from the start, honestly I never even noticed it. Besides, if you are holding the gun correctly you will never have a problem.sigpicNRA Life MemberComment
