1911 pricing

Not sure why you would consider that. While the gun doesn't have that many rounds through it, it has never failed to fire or extract and the recoil is very manageable given the size of the projectile.

He's probably considering that because your gun is a colt 1991.
Springfield Milspec is the same type of gun. Minus the firing pin block.
You can sell that thing for as much as you want, if someone will buy it. But if someone buys it for some outrageous price they must like colts or they need their head checked.
That's my opinion.

It's not going to be in high demand like a Python I assure you.


One way to find out how much your 1911 Colt is worth is to post in up in the MP with a ridiculous price and reduce it as you bump your thread.

A 1991 is a cheaper version of Colt's regular 1911.

You might be able to get $600 to $800 for it.

I'll sleep on it, but if I list, it will probably be around $750 for the gun plus ammo. I'm not looking to gouge, just a fair deal to somebody that's going to enjoy it.

Your 1991 ORM is probably the cheapest 1911 Colt ever produced. When Kimber hit the streets back then they were the hottest 1911 out and priced just under the Colts. So Colt came out with the 1991, To reduce the price they put a Plastic trigger, Plastic MSH, NON Extended BTGS, most came without 3 dot sights and the biggest price reductions was those pistols came parkerized and not the usual Blue that Colts are famous for. That being said in the condition your pistol is in I would say $650 max. Not trying to be a D but don't believe me Google Colt 1991 ORM those are the least desired 1911s Colt ever produced.

Not offended. I removed the parkerization because it was FUGLY. It would be a great entry-1911 or just a great shooter for somebody that wants to keep their 1911 safe queen in the safe.

What ever the price you're going to list, it is not gouging IMHO. Your item is not a necessity.

For $750 with ammo, you're probably going to move them quickly.

Series 80 1911s are the work of the devil and really not Colt's best work. If I want a shooter grade 1911 I'd go with a Springfield. The 1991 guns doesn't have any collectors value to me. Now if your gun is a series 70 then we are talking about a lot more money.

Now that the Colts are of roster it probably will Fetch more than I said. They will hang with the best of them in reliability just not the looks department. I had a ORM commander that I regretfully traded here on CGs. Here is a 1991 compact with a heavy melt job and a type of royal blue not mine but that's the potential of your pistol.

I have seen some beautiful finishes and was considering spending the money to have it done. But at the end of the day, it will still be a 1991, just with a really nice finish :-)

BTW, just received an offer of $500 - that's basically $375 for the gun. It amazes me how bold and insulting people can be when they're hiding behind a screen.

$450 - $550 because you removed the finish. If it was professionally done and then refinished it could have added a little value to your gun. But, if you did it in your garage with a brillo pad well......

You should have added a $100 premium to the price when listing it. You're gonna need it to take the little woman out for a nice make up dinner if she finds out that you had gun parts all over the comforter GLWTS.
