    1911 pricing

Since they're now off roster, I'm not sure what to ask. I don't want to gouge, but I also don't want to give it away.

    Specs:
    Colt 1991A1
    No more than 200 rounds
    Upgraded grips, original are included
    2 magazines - one 7 round, one 8 round
    Original Colt box and manual
Will also include 240 rounds of target ammo and 20 rounds of self defense ammo.

Gun has been stripped, parts polished, and lubed. I have not fired since it has been cleaned.

I haven't posted in the sell section yet since I don't really know what to ask. What say you?

    Thanks

nice 1911. i don't know the answer to your question, but i do know there is a used but excellent condition colt 1911 sitting in the case at my local gun shop with a $1,500 asking price. so while i am sure you already knew this, i can tell you that $1,500 is too high...
    my Benitez goes to 11

$1,500 seems a bit crazy high unless it's perfect, special edition, etc. This is a good shooter and not a safe queen.

Go to gun broker and look at COMPLETED sales ,take an average. that will give a starting point, factor extras and demrits

Good suggestions. Thanks. Didn't realize I could search "completed" sales.

            How much would I pay?

            $600-$700

Series 80 1911s are the work of the devil and really not Colt's best work. If I want a shooter grade 1911 I'd go with a Springfield. The 1991 guns doesn't have any collectors value to me. Now if your gun is a series 70 then we are talking about a lot more money.

            Just my 2cents though

Methinks you'll be sorry later if you sell. Sleep on it before making a decision you may later regret.

Not sure why you would consider that. While the gun doesn't have that many rounds through it, it has never failed to fire or extract and the recoil is very manageable given the size of the projectile.

                          Thanks anyway for your opinion.

Haven't pulled the trigger to sell yet. Just thinking about it - might just take your advice. It just sits in the safe and doesn't get any use. I think the last time I shot it was 3 or 4 months ago.

My rule with firearms is if I'm not using it, I would rather sell than just let it sit in the safe.

That's why the original grips are included.
