    9mm Choice?

    Hey guys!

Looking to get some advice on what I should buy and if anyone can give me pros/cons on certain firearms. Heres some background from me in case youre curious:

Im just a casual range shooter but would consider myself a decent shot. Between my family and I, we own and I have shot the following pistols: sig mosquito .22, Sig P2022 9mm, Glock G22, and a S&W .357 revolver. Between the p2022 and the glock, I really like the way that both feel in my hand. I cant complain about the glock or p2022 when I shoot them as they feel and function great. The only downside is with the p2022 as it seems to eject cartridges backwards rather than to the side. On more than one occasion Ive had the pleasure of being hit in the head with flying cartridges.

That being said, Ive been looking into buying a new 9mm and was debating between: Glock G17 or 34, XD, and the CZ 75. I would consider the M&P9 but I know they were added to the roster last year which makes getting them more difficult. So if anyone could give me their feedback on those, I would be greatful. Also, if you have any other suggestions on firearms I should look into please let me know.

    Thanks!

      Well, I have 4 Glocks. A gen 2 G20, a Gen 3 G27, a Gen 3 G23, and lastly a Gen 4 G17 (like you are contemplating).

My Gen 4 G17 is the most comfortable to hold and shoot of the lot. Also the least expensive to shoot.

One thing I hate about my Glock 17...........Brass to face.

At least one round per magazine hits me straight in my glasses, if I am lucky. I have had more than a few go down the front of my shirt, and even a couple lodge above my eyeglass frame. Dayum, they burn.

Needless to say, follow up shots are a little slow, when you jumping around with a hot cartridge case burning your chest.

Check out the Sig p226, rent one for an afternoon if you can.

Out of all the handguns I own, some that you mentioned, my beloved Sig p226 MK25 runs home defense for me. After a couple of thousand rounds she is tried and true.

I was concerned about getting used to the DA first pull before purchasing, now its my preference for a security piece. Decocked and always ready to go. Feels good in the hand and always goes bang. Always.

My vote would be the CZ, either the P-01 or SP-01.

Go shoot them all and decide what feels best in your hands

Can't go wrong with either of your options

I own glocks and czs, Springfield XD feel like a block in my hand and too vertical for me, again, it's preference.

                        1. Go to range.
                        2. Rent guns you listed.
                        3. Decide which you like.
                        4. Go to LGS.
                        5. Reach in pocket.
                        6. Buy gun you like.

^^^^^this guy is right. However, If you like striker fired guns then go with a glock/xd/m&p. If you like da/sa then definitely look at a cz. The sigs are awesome but you're going to have to pay premium for the same gun as a cz. I have owned every gun you listed and I would say get a cz. They are amazing shooters and the ergonomics feel great.

I have several of the Sig Pro SP2022's and I bet the one you shot was dirty. Mine mostly eject out to the right and to the rear right away from me. I personally love them and for the price point they are amazing.

My next one up in that price range is the Springfield XD9mm which I also have. Both are amazing fire arms.
