I recommend SA XD, Glock 19, CZ PO-1, Sig SP2022 and Sig 229. All these guns have pro and cons. I have shot all of them and like them all. I neither confirm nor deny I own all these firearms

I had a Beretta M9 and really like it and it is USGI.

But I got a Glock 19 and it is really nice. 800 rounds since Fathers Day and it is perfect.

If you can find a P228 buy it. By far the best pistol I own.

Go to a gun range that rents and try different models before buying. I am pretty sure you will end up with a CZ SP-01 as that is one of the easiest to shoot and feels great in the hand.

The problem with that is the range stock limits your choices. I've bought guns based on reviews. Shot em, didn't like em, traded for something else.

I like Glocks, but nothing beats a CZ 75 and Beretta 92 with those rubber grips. You can shoot all day without soreness.

These questions never have a correct or incorrect brand or model. Like you when I bought my first 9mm (4yrs ago as I'm late to firearms) I spent 2 hours with the most patient LGS Employee and literally handled every 9mm in the case. The guy had the patients of Jobe.

Any mainstream manufacturer (Glock, M&P, Beretta, SA, HK, Sig, Walters, CZ, etc) ALL make great reliable guns.

In the end my first 9mm was a XD9 in OD Green. Still have it. For me it fit my hand like a glove.

There is no perfect gun we can tell you to get, only what feels perfect in your hand. You will know the moment you pick it up!

                        Good Luck!

(P.S. Or just skip to the VP9 and be done with it! )

M9, accurate and our military likes to use them.
I think you mean liked, as the Glock 19 is replacing it ...

Because I've never purchased a 9mm, I could use some suggestions. I've been looking at the following guns...

                              Glock 19
                              Beretta PX4 Storm
                              Beretta M9

Any one have experience with these and any feedback?
The first and most important question is, what do you intend to do with it? Range toy, home defense, concealed carry, not sure and want the jack of all trades master of none general purpose? The answer to this question might guide you away from the three you listed. Without knowing the answer, the question is equivalent to what's your favorite color.

But if you're limited to just your list, I'd suggest G19.
