That would fetch $700-850 in a free state sure.

In CA I'd say $1000 would be a fair price.

At least, people are asking $1000 for used W German 226, but typically getting between 700-900. NIB commands what someone would pay. If it were me I would price it $1200 at a minimum.

Honestly, and not intending to be a d***head, but seriously, you score a west German 226 and you are more concerned with how much it's "worth". It's the finest 9mm ever made. I have a similar era 228. There isn't anything even close to them. You've got an amazing firearm. Keep it, shoot it, treasure it.

Econ 101: value is subjective. And your post is case in point. How much would YOU pay for it? Obviously not as much as someone else. So how you can ask anyone for a "value". It's worth what someone is willing to pay. Period.

Tell you what, go ahead and sell it. 10 years from now, someone will start a(nother) "what firearm do regret selling?" thread. You'll have a great post.

They're not liberals, they're leftists. Please don't use the former for the latter. Liberals are Locke, Jefferson, Burke, Hayek. Leftists are progressives, Prussian state-socialists, fascists. Liberals stand against the state and unequivocally support liberty. Leftists support state tyranny.

Unless you are law enforcement, getting those mags from 1988 may be illegal

Yup... 1000 to 1200 depending on which roll marks it has... Tyson's Corner, Hendron or Exeter AND assuming you have a "full set"; manuals , test target, original sticker on box etc...

The value of it is what you paid for it. If you decide to sell it, you can ask whatever you like until you find the right buyer. Then you will know what it is worth. Good find.

I want to thank everybody for the input very much. In reply to rm911. I considered most of the things that you said. I am aware that the true value is what somebody is willing to pay. Im not looking to take advantage of anybody. I just really didn't know a fair value(for both parties) that is the only way that I do business, win win for both. The main reason that I ask is because I wont' keep it. I would feel really bad shooting it. I have a new p226 enhanced extreme that I just bought for shooting, along with my XD's.
And lastly, for leoffensive, I will post pics when I get back home this week, Im out of town for a bit. Thanks again for all of the input.

Last year I paid about $725 for a W. German p220 with tritium night sights, hogue grips, 4 mags, manual, and test target.
But it was a definitely a used duty gun. Night sights had already burned out, holster wear on the finish from drawing it, and wear on the left side of the grips from rubbing during carry.
but no test target or booklet
NIB but no manual or test target?
