All of the Beretta clones should be GTG. I THINK this has to do with something slipping with their striker fired pistols.

I have a PT-99 and a PT-92 and I would certainly not turn them in if they were recalled unless it meant that I was getting brand new PT-99AF and PT-92AF with new mags to fix them

I have shot my PT-99 90 feet under water on the side of the Olympic while filming it. It fired then too

Taurus haters can hate, because that is all they can do. But Taurus makes a lot of cool and decent guns.

I do that with each one of my firearms, weekly.

A lot of decent guns is not good enough. They must all be decent guns. I have bought 1 Taurus. It was not decent. It might have been cool, but it was not decent.

FTR, Taurus themselves made me a Taurus Hater. Before I actually owned one, I thought they were fine. I no longer buy Taurus products. This is all I can really do.

If you are spending your $, you can buy any POS you want. When I spend my $, I will choose quality. Is that hating or being smart?

Hell even the US Government has recalled firearms, ever hear of a low number Springfield Armory M-1903 rifles.

But its only Taurus because Taurus "makes cheap knock offs of real guns"

You have put forth an IMPOSSIBLE bar for ANY manufacturer to overcome. EVERY manufacturer has good and bad guns for varying reasons. For you to just come in and blindly say that ALL guns must be decent in order for a manufacturer to be good is really saying that NO manufacturer in business today is decent. Well, MAYBE one or two that hand make things and have NEVER had issues.

It is a Ford Chevy debate.

What about Remington? Remington just did a massive recall on a LOT of their guns for the trigger system. They KNEW the triggers were bad and kept them out there and I guess finally to many folks blew holes in things with their shotguns.

Everyone makes mistakes. You bought one gun from Taurus and hate them for it. Well good for you. Typical hater. I will give you credit for buying ONE gun.

I own about 7 of their guns and Although I will most likely take a Beretta 92FS over my PT-92, it is only because of the magazines. The only complaint I have about my Taurus is the mags never seemed to fit. But then I bought "factory mags" recently and I have not had that issue, so maybe when I was young and stupid and had the cheap 32rd mags I got from the gunshows for $16 each that jammed left and right, I had issues too and blamed the gun.

Glock had .40 cal with unsupported barrels, plus all of the stories I see with the glocks blowing up. So they are garbage too? I have over 12k rds through mine and never had issues with it. Although it IS a 9mm, it is still a glock.

I am to now understand that SIG lied about their P320 and there will be no .45 ACP caliber exchange kits for it? WOW. THAT totally blows if that is correct. I thought I spent my $500 for a decent handgun that I could convert. Had I known that was the case I would have went with an EAA Witness Hunter instead of wasting my money on a damn Sig.

So their guns work fine but they just LIE and take forever to do anything as a gun manufacturer. Does that mean they are decent or not?

I have not heard anything bad about high-point or Lorcin, so I guess they are good manufacturers. Oh wait, Lorcin is out of business due to too many guns going AWOL at their factory. High point is just ugly, but they work and shoot fine so they must be good firearms...

            So yeah, LIKE I SAID...

            Haters gonna hate...

Oh, and I am sure that you own NONE of the manufacturers on the above list right? I bet it is even bigger than that.

But hey man, it is all good. You have you opinions and I have mine. I aint saying you are wrong, but you are. You are grading on a curve that virtually no manufacturer will pass.
So you need to adjust your curve. Just face it, ALL manufacturers have released guns that have had issues with different people at one time or another. That is really only the fair thing to say.

There won't be a problem if the manufacturer doesn't have to change the serial number of the gun. That "problem" you mention with single shot exemption guns was particular to Ruger, who refused to return legally owned guns to California that's not on the roster. This is one reason why I don't like Ruger.

I hate Ruger because IIRC, they helped author the 2000 AWB (or a previous ban) language and that is flat outright unacceptable to me. No gun manufacturer shall help thy enemy! (that is what we need, we need the ten commandments for firearms manufacturers...)

                Am I wrong here?

But after thinking of it, did they do it to help gun owners out and try to control where the bill went and what it said to give us a few loopholes or did they do it for their own gain and to write it to leave their guns alone?

I could be totally misinformed too.

Stilly, what was scary right then was a proposal that all guns be limited to six rounds, just like a revolver.
This six round proposal was floating around for several weeks and needed to be put down.
I was not so pleased with Bill Ruger's proposal, but compared to the six rounds proposal, he was battling for the gun owners, and not just for Ruger as others have accused him of.

Bill has passed away now, and Ruger makes all kinds of guns that Bill probably never would have.
                  It's time to move on.

The recall is good for ANYONE who owns the gun, not just the original buyer. If you know someone who lives out of state that you trust (parents), or have another shipping address in another state (summer/winter vacation home), you can sent it to Taurus with the out of California address as the return address. The only problem you might run into is if they give you a high cap magazine when they return the gun. Don't include your mags with the gun.

Back in the late 1980's Ruger, Colt, and S&W were against "assault weapons" in civilian hands. One, two, or all three of those were also against high-cap magazines for handguns. In the mid 1990's, 5 years later, Colt and S&W were owned by someone else, and they no longer had those views. It is the people who run the company that have those views, not the company itself.

Yep, I don't own any ruger products. Maybe my stance has softened a tiny bit since bill ruger died, but still... he was all about restrictions mag size etc for us plebs.

                                No they aren't.

They were at one time owned by the same holding company but that was many years ago.
                                Yes you can have 2 C&R 03 FFL's; 1 in California and 1 in a different state.
