I never saw the need for Gen 4

Does anyone use any back strap other than the one that is the same size as the Gen 3?

The old recoil spring works just fine....

    no big deal....

You beat me to it. Given the apples to apples choice I'd take a gen 3

        I have Gen 2/3/4 Glock's.

I have regular-size hands, and I am right-handed. Between my Gen 3 and Gen 4 -- I could hardly feel the differences, and I shot them both equally well.

Sure, I wouldn't mind to have the Gen 4 just because, but in California here the Gen 3 is fine by me.

I prefer Gen4 due to feel and I dig the HK style double recoil spring... Especially in >9mm calibers. Mostly I like the Beavers.

I have to change my grip on my G17 Gen3 in order to reach the mag release. The Gen4 looks like it would solve that issue.

I still have GEN 3 in my duty holster, own GEN2/3/4 and like them all. My facorite is my G19 GEN2.

I bought my first Glock in the early 90's. I've never shot or even thought about buying a gen 4. I love a nice beaver!

I purchased Gen3 G19 last year as brand new. Initially I planned to pick up G26 but as soon as G19 fitted my hand like condom I bought it. I would still pick my Gen3 over Gen4 despite the fact I am left handed shooter and G4 can switch mag release...

Thanks for the education! I never really paid attention, which I should. I just assumed that with the duel recoil spring bumped it up to a GEN 4 version.

Also, I think I quickly read somewhere that Gen 3 sub compacts have duel springs?

Even when we had SSE, I still preferred and continued purchasing Gen 3's.

I've had Gen 3s for awhile. Bought a Gen 4 G34 last year and like it a lot. But still bought a Gen 3 G17 last month and DROSing a Gen 3 G26 tomorrow.

So, I guess, No, not being able to buy new Gen 4s doesn't really matter to me.

Kind of interesting that the new G42 & G43 and not Gen 4, but the new G40 and G41 are.

Then there's the G24 which is a .40 cal version of the G17L, but they didn't call it the G22L. And neither of them are referred to as Gen 3 or Gen 4.

IMO not thing much diff between gen3 and 4, just the proudy off list fancy make the gen 4 cost more for the $ LOL. I perfer the less $ the better. Just my 2 cents
